ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s failure to make a speech during his four-day stay in Davos has sparked resentment among the people.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif spent millions of rupees on his luxuriant visit during the visit but failed to address any important forum because he was not allowed by the management of Davos Economic Forum to address any function.

The main reason for not allowing the prime minister to deliver a speech on any forum was said to be the alleged involvement of the prime minister in massive corruption in Pakistan. He could only hold a meeting with the Sri Lankan prime minister and no bilateral meeting with the head of any other country took place. The entire nation was desperately frustrated over the country being made a laughing stock by the prime minister during his visit.

In contrast, the former army chief Gen (r) Raheel Sharif was held in great reverence in the conference and he addressed several forums and participated in many debates. The meeting of the World Economic Forum is held every year in Davos in the month of January and world leaders are invited to address it.

Nawaz Sharif had gone to attend the Davos Forum without any invitation from its sponsors and spent millions of rupees on his visit out of the national kitty. But he had to face disappointment when he was not allowed to address the forum. The prime minister stayed in five-star hotels in Switzerland at the cost of the nations’ taxpayers.

Official sources said he spent over four days there just talking to Pakistani journalists before leaving for London in sheer despair. The PM had made special arrangements for his visit to Davos and he had a speech prepared. But he could not present his written speech in the forum.

The official spokesman declined to comment on the matter.

I was also curious what happened because he spent 4/5 days there and i didn't hear him doing anything there or any news related to him coming fromthere :13:

If this news about "Nawaz Sharif had gone to attend the Davos Forum without any invitation from its sponsors" is true thn this really  worthy stuff by Mr PM

The amount of disrespect he is bringing his nation and to the post of Prime Minister is unbelievable.

You mean forbidden from reading out loud hesistantly from a piece of paper. I am generally not vocal about my criticism for Nawaz and nor do I advertise it, but he is a terrible orator. Of course there are more pressing issues concerning us these days, but I had to get it off my chest one day.

In the 4/5 days he checked his bank balances and made sure that the accounts are secure and there won't be any more leaks like Panama. BTW has anyone seen a single press conference from the PM on the Panama leaks?

There were also reports of him having a 2 hour long meeting with a Qatari in London :13: He got a full army of derbaris to do those PCs daily and now he and his kids are staying away from media after all those blunders in media they did during interviews and speeches :))

I have yet to see a single press conference from him about the most important issue of the day. Can imagine this happening in any self respecting country?

Have we seen a single press conference from him on anything? Only one I remember is in the White House next to Obama where even then he was reading off a little paper :91:

This is embarrassing for the Pakistani nation whether you support Nawaz or not.

Apparently even the evidence given to the speaker last year in the initial Panama debate turned out to be drawings of Tom and Jerry.

Yes. He just cannot speak! A few days ago, in a meeting with Bill Gates in Davos, he was also holding those dreaded parchis.

He is being humiliated everywhere yet refuses to do the right thing by resigning. Mind you, Pakistanis are so ignorant that they'll still vote for him in hundred's of million's next year. This is why we can't get rid of Zardari and Nawaz.

How we ended up here, why is he the PM ? Seriously, there is no one else our smart nation could find, bravo.

What an embarrassment for nation having a huge pool of smart people.

True i can see his party winning again in 2018 if he and his family come clean out of Panama case.
