The Vivo Pro Kabaddi League franchises on Monday turned their backs on the 10-odd Pakistani players after the Indian government categorically said that they won’t be allowed to compete in the cash-rich league until Pakistan stops exporting terror..

Pakistan is one of the 16 countries whose players are listed in the auction for this season beginning June 25, but none of the franchises will bid for them. Hassan Raza was one of the 10 players from Pakistan listed in Category B of the auction with a base price of Rs12 lakh, but since he will go unsold, he will be kept as reserve..

Sports minister Vijay Goel said on Monday that, “They (the organisers) can call them (Pakistan players) but they can’t make them play. Even if they are selected, it is Government of India which will decide whether they are allowed or not. Unless Pakistan gets rid of terrorism, it is impossible to play with Pakistan.”

And this continues the Pakistan isolation by India in sports other than Cricket.

Unfortunate decision once again, unlike cricket players the kabbadi and hockey ones could had used the money.

It's time for GOI to actually take a proper stand, stop allowing business men to meet the Pak PM if this is your stand on sports and arts!

Could be a blessing in disguise for Pakistan. IPL snub led to a superior league in PSL, and Pro Kababaddi sunb can lead to a Kabaddi league in Pakistan.

The BCCI critics can notice that it's the government's policy which prevents them from organizing series against Pakistan, same goes for other sports like Hockey and Kabaddi Now.

Very funny

The Indian Government must also prohibit India from playing against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy after all it's the honor of armymen on line. Bunch of hypocrites.

As if Pakistani and Indian governments, and the military top brass on both sides, are going to change their policies and stances because some cricketers or hockey players from the two sides are not allowed to play each other.

True. If anything, a greater percentage of Pakistani population actually shares an interest in Kabaddi, so no reason why Pakistan can't start it's own.

Pakistani kabaddi player banned indefinitely for representing Indian team

A well-known Pakistan international kabaddi player, Ubaidullah Rajput, has been banned indefinitely by the national federation after he appeared for an Indian team in a private tournament in Bahrain earlier this month.

The Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) imposed the ban following an emergency meeting on Saturday, finding Rajput guilty of travelling abroad to play in the tournament without obtaining a mandatory no-objection certificate (NOC) from the federation or other relevant authorities.

PKF secretary Rana Sarwar said Rajput had the right to appeal before a disciplinary committee.

Sarwar said the federation took serious note of the fact that Rajput not only travelled overseas without an NOC but also represented a team from India, wore its jersey and, at one point, wrapped the Indian flag around his shoulders after winning a match.

“But he (Rajput) has claimed it was a total misunderstanding and he was never told the team he would play for in the private tournament would be an Indian side. But he is still guilty of flouting NOC rules,” Sarwar said.

Rajput landed in trouble after videos and photographs of him wearing an Indian jersey and waving the Indian flag during the GCC Cup went viral on social media.

Sarwar added that other players have also been banned and fined for participating in the event without obtaining NOCs.

Rajput had earlier issued an apology, stating that he was invited to play in the tournament in Bahrain and was included in a private team.

“But I didn’t know until later they had named the side Indian team and I told the organizers to not use names of India and Pakistan. In private competitions in the past, Indian and Pakistan players have played together for a private team but never under the names of India or Pakistan,” he had said.

“I found out later that I was misrepresented as playing for the Indian team which I can’t think of doing after the conflict.”
