Karachi Kings Team
Chris Gayle, Shahzaib Hasan, Babar Azam, Kumar Sangakkara*, Shoaib Malik, Ravi Bopara, Kieron Pollard, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Sohail Khan, Abrar Ahmed.

Quetta Gladiators Team
Asad Shafiq, Ahmed Shehzad, Kevin Pietersen, Rilee Rossouw, Sarfraz* Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Thisara Perera, Anwar Ali, Hasan Khan, Tymal Mills, Zulfiqar Babar.

Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and opted to bowl, with Karachi getting a somewhat decent start. With Shahzaib Hasan looking good on 19, however, he fell to a slower ball by Tymal Mills. Gayle hit one six early on but failed to carry on and was dismissed by Perera for 10. Sangakkara and Babar formed a partnership but it was lacking tempo and the captain fell after making 25 in an attempt to up the ante. Pollard was promoted up the order but only made a quick 14 before Nawaz got him. Babar was steady but unspectacular at the other end. Malik and Bopara made quick contributions at the end while Babar got to his fifty to drag Karachi to 159/8.

Quetta started well in their chase with Shehzad smashing a couple of boundaries but Sohail hit back by removing the opener along with KP in two balls to put the pressure back on the Gladiators. He also got Shafiq in the next over, his 3rd wicket in four balls. However, Rossouw was imperious and he was joined at the crease by the busy captain, Sarfraz. Different bowlers were tried but Rossouw was equal to them all while Sarfraz pushed hard for the singles and twos to give his partner company. The South African got to his fifty off 30 balls. Sarfraz also got to a fifty, off 37 balls. Rossouw finished off the chase with five balls to spare as he ended on 76* off just 53 balls, his second fifty in two matches at the PSL.

Next match: Lahore Qalandars vs Peshawar Zalmi

Excellent performance by Quetta again...
Sarfaraz showed what he is capable of great performance by him..
I'm really missing Luke wright, he is needed in opening spot along with Shehzad.
K.P needs to.perform may be in the next match.. He and Shehzad will perform big..
A little doubtful still.about the bowling depth..
But Quetta all the way..
Kai Kai Quetta...!!!!

Hawkeye again Sarfaraz ain't good eh?? Along with his captaincy he performed well with the bat too..

anyone who is saying Sarfraz batted slowly is stupid, he anchored the innings by batting sensibly while Rossouw was looking for boundaries, surprisingly Sarfraz fininshed with the strike rate of 133 and Rossouw with 143, really impressive batting and calculated run chase.
Body language of Karachi Kings was awful, it looked like they gave up when Sarfraz and Rossouw were not getting out, poor attitude. Quetta's body language was so much better, Sarfraz leading them plays a big part too, he never stops talking to his players, motivates them, guides them, and scold them if needed, led from the front today, I'm glad PCB finally made him the captain.

Won't be surprised if Quetta win the tournament, they look like a team that are motivated and care about winning the most. Very determined performances.

What a knock by Rossouw and great stuff from Sarfraz! True captain's knock, and one for the haters.

Didn't watch the match, but you can enjoy the T20 leagues as long as you want.

I'll ask you after 1-2 years of intl cricket.

Roussow with a quality knock, a shame we won't see him in international cricket. Quetta have started well, good captaincy by Sarfaraz. Need to get rid of the passengers though. Anwar Ali, Asad Shafiq, zulfiqar could cost Quetta. KP doesn't seem to be on his game and looks past it,mIf he doesn't improve he could be a passenger.

So far so good from Sarfraz. Another shot to his haters. I'm not going to say him a hater or his biggest fan, I understand his limitations but you can see he has some benefits in LO cricket which Pakistan need. He also is a good captain. Don't understand how he can have so much hate from some posters.

Hehe nice argument... We have so many Kohlis and Bradmans in our domestic circuit and Sarfaraz is taking their place eh??
So you'd prefer a nonperforming Umar over a consistent Sarfaraz!!! Amazing.....

due to this?
On 5 January 2017, Rossouw signed a Kolpak deal with Hampshire County Cricket Club which made him ineligible to represent South Africa anymore, ending his international career.

was it intentional?

Is it just me or does Karachi team look uninterested?

The crowds so far have been poor imo. Too many empty seats.
