PSL 2018 Eliminator 2: Peshawar Zalmi defeat Karachi Kings to make it to PSL 2018 final

It is a shame that Pakistan's best batting talent in nearly 15 years is turning out be a massive coward.
 
Time for Babar to show what he's made up off...this might be his last innings for KK.
 
The ICC have made a complete mockery of their ranking system by allowing someone like Babar to become the number one ranked T20I batsman in the world.

Couple of weeks back, I managed to name 25 batsmen who were better than him in this format. I think I can double that number now.

Why are you crazy for pace? 127KM is enough with effort ball reaching 134K. In early English summer, it's the skills with seem & swing that matters & they'll be using 2 balls. Do you think Wahab, Raees are good idea with new ball, or moving Hasan to new ball when he was exceptional with semi old ball.

Besides, average height of PAK pacers are now lower than our pacers and I am not joking - Hasan, Amir, Fahim, Raees, Shinwari - I doubt anyone is over 6' - this kid is like 6'2"

Still too slow - chasing 10+ initial asking demands a reduction of asking rate in PP.
 
What Babar needs to realize is the fact that there are a lot of Pakistani batsmen that can get runs through boundaries but not many who can avoid scoreboard pressure by taking singles, doubles and sometimes, even triples.

These fours and sixes will not take you far; relieving pressure and preventing a lot of dots to build up will.
 
An opening attack of shaheen and sameen In couple years will be mouth drooling

Actually its more like Babar dodged the ranking system by playing at good SR and scoring runs against top T20 teams like NZ and WI
 
Ah man, just got home and very disappointed to see this performance from Karachi. Hopefully they still beat Peshawar.

Why trying to get under skin of so may people :). People are upset already with Kamran today .. Babar is very good T20 player in a collective batting unit - it's not his fault that Ul Haq sends Ahmed before him & MoHa after .....

Did he get a wicket? Did he look threatening with the new ball? Cloud cover is there offering swing and Amir choose to bowl back of a length with the new ball. Had he gotten Akmal early KK would be the favorites right now.

Amir did brilliant defensive work absolutely but if you are going to do that in overcast conditions just save your overs for the middle and death overs. Maybe he could have stopped Akmal in the middle overs with the defensive bowling if he had 4 overs but he ended up allowing the onslaught to bowl at the death.

Bottom line is he wasted the new ball and 2 of his very valuable overs.

His death over bowling is very poor. Hassan Ali should partner Amir with the new ball in WC 2019 with Shinwari as first change. We have Shinwari, Arshad and Shaheen available and you want a trundler to open the bowling.

His economy though has been excellent in T20s and ODIs, I do believe he has not been consistently threatening.

Your explanation is absolutely spot on for ODI, but not for T20, and today was S16 ..... He bowled as good as anyone - Kamran isn't fool either after 16 years of International cricket - he got enough from other end, hence saved himself from Amir; you can check how many he faced in 2 overs.

I have seen Sameen touching high 130’s, h pace will surely increase he is just 19

Aquib wasn't faster - Imran used to give him 7-10 in first spell, and didn't call back. Guy was genuine No. 11 ..... you have horses for courses. Apart from PAK, even AFG loads their top 4 with best hitters - take couple of those in PP< half the game won. Sameen (or any new ball bowler, hitting length with new ball), doesn't need to bowl after 35th over.

He bowled as well as anyone as far as saving runs goes. Absolutely fantastic defensive work. But there is absolutely no justification to waste the new ball in overcast conditions the way he did.

Even if Kami didn't get out two miserly overs in the middle may have done a world of good.l for KK.
 
Its so good to see matches in Pakistan. Excellent wicket, outfield and crowd. Cricket community needs such electric venues

He is playing fine, absolutely fine.

A 45/125 player in T20 is like gold - ask Ul Haq to fix other end. I gave a mathematical explanation - he is scoring say around 35 for 29 ball in a T20 innings (batting average is higher for not outs) - that's 120+ SR. Make it 35 of 26 - that's SR of close to 140 for 3 less balls ....... do you think, it's going to change end total from 151 to 180?

BUT, if that 45, comes down to 30 level, I can tell you that sometimes 20 overs would look like swimming past Nile ....
 
Honesty, Babar has been way better than Denly! Denly can't buy a hit at this stage . . poor poor innings . . he has hit 2 sixes in his score . .
