PSL 2018 Match 10: Incredible Darren Sammy leads Peshawar Zalmi to 5-wkt win over Quetta Gladiators

The same Hastings will be lighting up the IPL and FLT20

because the wickets are roads there; here the wickets offers a healthy competition between bat and ball; this is one of reason why PSL is the best T20 league in the world

Dramaybaazi or not. They should make a movie on Sammys life after this.

great knock by Sammy. acting aside it takes courage to finish off in this style

Lol, finally a thriller. This was entertaining. Need more matches like this.

This years PSL has lacked matches like this, so good to see

Hopefully, we see more like this

Heroic finishing from Sammy.

Poor from QG, their death bowling continues to haunt them. Anwar Ali should never bowl the final over.

Quetta would have won it had Sarfraz given the last over to Nawaz. Sammy is poor against spin especially now with him not being fit.

Should have been Nawaz because Sammy is poor against spin.

That was a blunder from Saifi. Hopefully he learns from it.

Hopefully this match gets the tournament going.

IU vs LQ tomorrow should be a thriller

Death batting too. Its mostly due to the foreign players that they won or posted a decent score in the past few games.

Brilliant from sammy but Poor captaincy from sarfraz , Why would you put mid off up when u know sammy can't run will only look to hit boundaries :/

Yeah minnow contests are always exciting.... the best thing to come out of this PZ victory is that it leaves LQ too much to do LMAO

I think it becomes nearly a must win for LQ.

This was more of a movie than a game which is mostly the case with QG vs PZ games, still think Quetta would have won if Nawaz bowled the final over

Sammy really is the poster boy for the PSL. Has woken up this dud of a tournament

We will rise from the ashes.

My bad then

But tbh he hasnt played much and was let go by SRH despite winning the league. Sammy hasnt really done anything in IPL. Im pretty positive he was unsold this Auction in 2018

Turns out even Indian fans dont watch IPL that closely.

Also he didnt take part in 2018 auction so couldnt have been picked( source: google)

Bhai jaan your team has peaked at the wrong time. This bubble is about to pop :afridi

We need just 2 more wins and we would have pretty much qualified for the playoffs..... as for you I heard flights from Dubai to Lahore are happening three times a week now :)) :ashwin

Correction, he did take part in. the 2018 auction. I misread the article.

Uncle jee Khurram Manzoor is opening your batting. Enough said.

This chain of flukes is about to be broken :ashwin

We have other options in the squad. Our team has been doing well with Manzoor, imagine how well we'll do when we get rid of him. :yk2

You have no one. Kyle Abbott won't fix your middle order :)))

Lol good to see Sabbir contributing with 11 runs and 3 catches. It's a miracle he even picked for PSL lol

Ok.

Keep dreaming. KK fans have their heads in the clouds after a few fluke consecutive wins.

A reality check is looming unfortunately :))

great knock by Sammy. Again Peshawar made an easy looking game a nail biter.

Watched the last 2.4 overs of the game, the very first time I have watched any PSL.

Great game!

I hope Sammy is ditched after this season. He is past his best. I'm sure there are better overseas players available than Sammy. Seems as though his retention is due to him going to Pakistan and having a good relationship with JA.

You were saying? :)

What a match! It was relatively even between bat and ball before Quetta started to impress with restricting boundaries. I think Peshawar spent 6 overs without one. Nawaz just continues to impress too...but then along came Sammy, who would not be denied. He really did seem like a man on a mission. Very impressive, very brave, a true inspirational leader.

You picked the right match to watch.... These two teams always have thrilling matches, last two seasons there have been two matches between them which went down to the wire and QG won both times by a solitary run. This time PZ had the better off them.

Must have missed something, a very good T20 game. Sammy is a fantastic leader and mentally tough guy - after retirement, PCB should try to hook him in some capacity, since the guy is willing to travel PAK.

Looking at the scorecards & game notes from CI, what I understand is that Sarfraz made a tactical blunder to hand over the game. First he under bowled spinners on such wickets and went for full quota of Anwar Ali :( - then his finishing was what lost the game. If a batsman is struggling with knee, first discomfort is that he won't be able to reach out to hit the ball, rather wait for the ball to come on to bat - so, if available, a spinner is must to bowl against such batsman and Nawaz had one left. Besides, Rahat & Anwar bowled exactly what Sammy could hit - short on leg and good length staff just outside off; with dodgy knee Sammy could get under the ball and he can clear Sharjah boundary without footwork, probably with one hand and standing on one leg.

Giving Anwar Ali in last over in any case probably isn't the right idea.

League seems to be doing well too, the production quality was excellent. May end up becoming a fan :)

This makes me wonder what more the WI could've achieved had Sammy been skipper for a good while longer..

What a man is Sammy! He's a PSL legend of the highest order. I was supporting Quetta in frustration seeing how Peshawar were goofing up an easy run-chase, but once I saw him walk out to bat limping on one leg, I was in awe of him and desperately wanted him to get his team home. Even if you for a moment put aside the point of how he almost crawled to the striking end twice, to have hit two tremendous sixes with such amazing power whilst your one leg is hurting as badly, well, is not an easy thing. What a brave guy and what fabulous hitting.

It might sound like hindsight, but I opposed the decision of Sarfraz to have given the last over to Anwar Ali over Nawaz. I was sure of Peshawar winning as soon as I saw Anwar. Nawaz was bowling well and he has always been Quetta`s go-to-man for the last over in such thrillers, and he has come out on top on all previous occasions from what I remember. A bad decision in my opinion.
