When Kohli comes in whether it is ODI or T20 for the first 8-10 balls his focus is only onto rotate the strike gauge the speed of the pitch. He keeps the dots balls to the minimum in this period. No false, flashy stroke unless the ball is absolutely garbage. Then once he has his eye in he slowly turns the screw finding the boundaries with normal cricketing shots and in the meanwhile rotating the strike with minimal dot balls.


Heck the perfect training manual for any young bat is to watch Kohli score an ODI ton or T20 fifty. Umar Akmal should watch Kohli bat 6 hours a day.

I have seen Omar Akmal trying to apply himself and when ever he has tried to break the shackles after applying himself he is hold out on the boundary. His big shots have been his down fall more often than not. I think this is where he needs to get it sorted.
