PSL 2018 Match 24: Lahore Qalandars beat Karachi Kings in Super Over after late drama

Even newbs know that a run isn't counted unless they complete it. Don't know what the confusion is.

The run wasn't completed before the catch was taken off the no-ball.

Sohail Akhtar was ball-watching.

This has got to be the most exciting match and as a neutral I'm loving it!

I have an exam in the morning and I should be catching up on my sleep but I can't move.

It was umpires fault to begin with that he failed to call it a no ball. For god sake it was a big no ball and no way in the world the on field umpire should hv missed it. Lahore been robbed a victory here ..

Any way I’m happy it’s a super over though ..

WTH?

Lahore won this. 2 runs was needed off 1 ball. It was a no-ball meaning no other outs will be counted except for run out. So Lahore could've took as many as they want in the last ball of free hit. Until a batsmen isn't run out.

If it was a second last or any other ball. The fielder would've run out it then and then the runs was too given.

Lol Mccullam at his reckless best. Suicidal run out of poor Fakhar

Honestly speaking I didn’t know about this rule. This ‘run wasn’t completed when the catch was taken’ rule. I’m sure I’ve seen instances where the umpire called a no ball, the catch was taken and the run was given. I never saw anyone checking the completion of the run.

That is what free hit is all about. Run as many as you can until you're run out. No matter if you're caught or not

There have been such cases I have seen so myself. The rule is there so that batsmen don't decide to complete the run after finding out it was a no-ball or fielders find out it's a no-ball and the batsman who abandoned the run thinking himself out gets run out.

I have seen on many occasions where batsmen kept running and were caught before the run was completed but the run was given because of the no-ball

Go with Narine, it's the smart thing.

Go with Shaheen if you want to gamble.

Narine need to chuck a bit if he get’s the ball. Or will it be Shaheen?

Mcleghanan has more variations and experience though, but still needs to be Shaheen.

Well done Narine!

And Afridi really angry on Simmons who should have taken single!
