10 more matches with an extra team. Does that mean they play each other twice like before?

this year 24 matches were played .next year 34 i hope schedule is well managed

6th team should be sailkot or faisalabad

well it seems like 30 matches will be played between all the 6 team.each team will play 5 matches

with 3 qualifying matches and final to follow which makes 34 matches

Thats not how it works! Every match is played by 2 teams so 30 matches does not mean 5 matches by 6 teams. Rather it means 10 matches for each team.

6 teams, every team plays other 5 teams twice and 3 qualifiers anf a final..... qualifiers and final in pakistan is understood and that means 4 matches.... what about other 4 matches..... possibility is that they will be last league matches.

Does this mean that the PSL will be more than a month long? If so, does it make it too long?

I am sure a 7th team will be added in a couple of years which will make the tournament closer to two months long.

Should be that way but they could also do the opening ceremony and first 4ish matches in pakistan and the remaining in uae till the playoffs!

why should kashmir be a team? its not a city nor has the region produced any pakistani player.

Sialkot deserves a team

I think the tournament becoming longer makes it less attractive (e.g. IPL and the english t20s in the past).

BUT adding more teams is cool and I can get behind that. Ideally I would:

Two groups of 3 teams. Each team in each group plays each other once so a total of 12 matches in the group stage.

Top two teams from each group make it into round 2 and each team plays each other once.

The top 2 teams make it to the semi, with the loser getting another shot (much like now) and they play the 3rd placed team from round 2. Winner makes it to the final.

Oh and I'd preferably have all the KO matches in Pakistan.

That is a total of 26 matches. A leaner, more watchable tournament...which ofc is impossible because TV deals and sponsors want to make more money and that comes through more matches.

Had to post this again as I couldnt edited previous post

6 teams in double league = 15 X 2 + 4 eliminator = 34

I would have added just one more match at the middle of the tournament : PSL All Star.

It's possible to complete the priliminary in 23 days without over stressing players too much & 6 more days to complete the KOs. In total 29 days.

There is not much difference between 5 or 6 teams in terms of scheduling span. However, if they do back & forth between UAE & PAK, it'll take more time.

Ideally, if they start with sat- Sunday (4 matches) in PAK, then 26 in UAE & last 4 eliminators again in PAK; it's possible in 29 days.

With size of Pakistan I can honestly see PSL growing to 12 teams and a six month window. Congratulating you guys on your successful league. Enjoy.

So 8 boring matches to look forward to. Yaay :sa

Why announce this now?

Why not announce it when the 6th team is ready and confirmed.

Can't wait to see the 6th franchise and which foreign players will be available for the next edition

Yes really want to see the likes of Roy and Hales and maybe even Anderson play in Psl and along side them ofcourse all the young Pakistani talents that didnt get the chance to play this year.

Not expecting any players in the England international setup to be available for the next PSL given the grueling schedule next winter.

Well that's a shame.

Who are they playing next winter?

Will be the Ashes (5 tests), followed by an Australia ODI series (5 games) , followed by a t20 tri series with Australia and New Zealand (2 games against each and hopefully the final) then most likely straight onto a test and ODI series with New Zealand (2/3 tests and 5 ODIs? not confirmed yet so unsure).

I expect no one will play every series at it could potentially be 5 months straight away from home depending on how they schedule the NZ series.

England, Australia, and New Zealand are involved in a T20 tri series. So doubt we will see many of the England LO regulars in next year's PSL.

Want to see some South African players though. They have a good fanbase so they should attract more viewers.
