Players like saud shakeel need be in the team ASAP. But Saud isn't really a t20 player.
So do u think players from the psl will be selected?
Also who would u want to be selected?

Waiting for another Hussain talats asif Ali’s to join pakistan team

I mean people that are performing in the domestic circuit. Like saad ali or Saud Shakeel, so they get that boost up and get selected

there was one video of Zeeshan malik and he reminded me of an aggressive babar azam. he looks to have some potential with the bat.

Nawaz is certainly going to be in WC Squad.
Other potential candidates; Abbas,Rizwan Hussain and Sohaib.

One player I really want to watch at PSL 4 is Ahsan Ali. He is in QG squad and his competition for opener is against Watson/Shehzad/Narine. It may sound stupid but Ahsan Ali is actually an opener better than Fakhar Zaman. TalentSpotterPk will agree.

And I can wait another year for Saif Badar. He is a star in making.

Shan Masood was in the squad and wasnt tried for a single game. It doesnt matter who does what in PSL. Inzamam/Micky/Sarfaraz have already selected their World Cup Squad!

Don't think there's any need to rock the boat. The management probably has a good idea of 17-18 players out of whom 15 will be selected. So I don't see anyone getting selected on the basis of PSL. And if it's going to be another Talat or Asif Ali then I think Pakistan are better served with the players they already have.

No way Nawaz is getting selected for the WC. Pretty sure he has been discarded. As a player of such limited abilities should be.

It will take a Sharjeel like (PSL 1), Kamran Akmal like (PSL 2), or an Asif Ali like (PSL 3) performance to force their way into the WC squad.

Fakhar Zaman and Hussain Talat are also PSL finds but not as brutally dominant as those three were.

Let’s see, barring Shaheen our pacers are all trash, so why not ?

Pace bowling is settled and ok.

In the spin dept, Pakistan needs a specialist spinner who can bat and hit a bit to replace Shadab.

I was never a fan of Nawaz but he has improved a lot. He deserves to be going to England, ahead of Shadab and Faheem.

How exactly has he improved? He can't bat and can't spin the ball. In the Asia Cup he averaged 43 with the ball, 16.5 with the bat. His career averages do not inspire much hope either. There is nothing to suggest that he should be in the WC squad.

This thread itself is very bumpable. And so is Nawaz Debate. Only a few days more and we can discuss it again, here.

Would like to see a proper stroke maker come good instead of a hack as that will benefit us in the long run ps where is Sami Aslam?

I can see Rizwan Hussain having a Sharjeel like PSL and insha'Allah making world cup squad.

How can pajama cricket produce players for ODI or tests. T-20 is no benchmark for success in the purer form of the game. We should leave PSL success for T-20 team only as you really have no time to build an inning which is essential in both Tests and ODI.

PSL 1: Sharjeel Khan.

PSL 2: Shadab Khan, Kamran Akmal, and Hasan Ali.

PSL 3: Shaheen Shah Afridi, Asif Ali, and Talat Hussain.

PSL 4:?

Hasan Ali performed in PSL 1 and was selected for the LO series against England later that year. In PSL 2 he was already established.

Finds of this year..... hopefully

Musa
Saif Badar
Rizwan Hussain
Usama Mir

Selecting sumone for a 50 over world cup spot based on a 20 over domestic competition.. wow great intelligence

Not really.
It's more about exposing the players to the pressure that they'll face in the international matches and seeing if they can cope or not.
Stats should be the things u should look at first before selecting a team

Spots for taking are

Pacers: Shinwari, even Amir but he is gonna play the world cup most probably.

Junaid is gonna take that most probably or Rumman Raees if fit but guys like Musa, Naseem Shah, Ilyas, Ali Shafiq etc are gonna give them tough time

Openers: are gonna remain the same most probably unless Rizwan does some extraordinary stuff

Spinners: dont get enough chances especially Zafar Gohar and Irfan jnr otherwise they can grab 3rd spinner spot if there is any in Mickey’s mind.

Middle order: Babar is obvious and Malik, Hafeez and Sarfaraz are undroppable while Haris will also be there so almost no chance for any middle order batsmen unless he does some magic

We need faheem Asif imad hafeez doing end over power hitting consistently in this tournament and we need amir Hasan shaheen Junaid shinwari faheem being put under the pump in the death overs.
That will serve the national team best.

I just hope Nasir Nawaz and Rizwan Hussain have a great PSL and one of them if not both is selected for Aus tour.

It's UA's turn this year. If he can dazzle in PSL, he's punching the ticket to England. Shan Masood, Rizwan will be discarded. UA can be perfect between Hafeez and Malik in the order at no.5. He will also be the back up keeper.

Well it will be a disaster if a player is selected based on PSL performances at the last minute for the WC. Pakistan are already suffering from players who have trouble scoring big and get out after pretty 30's and 40's.

I hope Musa makes his mark.

Pakistan need desperately a right arm bowler

Exactly. Right now the best option for finisher is by playing Hafeez at no.6 and Imad at no.7. They did it together in the past too (CT17 Final)

Naseem Shah plays PSL? Isn't he too young? He's like 15... Of course.he won't be selected

i think most of the wolrd cup squad selects itself...
who are the young players worth paying attention to

Can someone enlighten me as to how many batsman has PSL discovered? I firmly believe a T20 format cannot predict a grand future in Tests or ODI.... I am sure people will point to Fakhar and Sharjeel but both had a decent List A record before PSL. Every other successful PSL batsman has done terribly in Tests/ODI's when given a chance. Grand examplesfor this category are the likes of Hussain Talat, Asif Ali, Umar Akmal, etc. We need to understand and appreciate the that the batting skills required for Tests and ODI's are quite different to the one used in T20's. Look at Malik who is still quite good in T20's but looks like an amateur when playing the other formats.

Well seeing that not many bright players have turned up in the first three editions, I wouldn't be surprised if no one is picked . Plus what can we say if kamran akmal is one of the leading players. If psl was worth picking players over, the. Babar would have been dropped already bc he failed badly in the first edition.

Whatever b the case just one request to all psl teams...
First three batting positions in every psl team should be for Pakistani youngsters.. Then only you will get batters and hitters like ipl has done for India..
It makes no sense Shane Watson, smith, haddin, etc. Etc. Opening... This is Pakistan's league and Pakistani youngsters and Pakistan national team should benefit...

I hope to umaid asif do well.
I havent really followed any of the PSL before this year....but with the world cup coming up, I am interested to see if there are any players that can put pressure on the incumbents.
