A commentary panel should have a nice mix of different nationalities. Atleast one commentator from Australia was needed

The PCB could have made a case for Ramiz Raja. It is clear he was persona non gratta.

Also the IPL has the likes of Scott Styris, Kevin Pietersen, Grame Swann, Mathew Hayden, Grame Smith, Ian Bishop commentating as well. We need to attract a mix of all nationalities.

Also i would like the PCB to take a leaf out of IPL's book and look to broadcast the league with commentators in Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashto, Balochi, Kashmiri e.t.c. These are the things they have to do to promote the league with the masses.
 
Surprised that David Gower has been overlooked.

I thought he did a decent job as a commentator at the PSL.

Was he overlooked or was he unavailable?

If available and they have overlooked him then they have made a big error!

He was available.

They've gone for the likes of Nick Knight, Dominic Cork, Mark Butcher and Alan Wilkins.

This is a massive error, poor decision. The commentary team was poor last season, (its the same team this season). If I'm remembering the correct commentator, than David Gower was by far the best commentator/broadcaster last year.

How does he not get selected???
 
I can only think Gower is a good friend of Rambo hence why he wasn’t picked. I really cannot see any other reason tbh he was the best commie by far he bought the game to life.
 
David Lloyd and David Gower both are not with SKY any more. Must have for leagues.

I am seriously Hoping IPL gets them.
 
Guys, any idea which website will be streaming the PSL live here in Europe? Tapmad isn´t showing it, as has been confirmed by them on Twitter.
 
Why do awkward and uncomfortable interviews in English with Pakistani players when they should be done in Urdu.

Ridiculous.

Some of the poorest local commentators and presenters you could ever imagine.

The likes of Doull are a saving grace and show just how poor the local commentators are.

Waqar I agree with. However, Sikander Bakht is class.
 
Not sure if this is exactly related to the Broadcast but there were a couple of audio issues where we couldn't hear any of the commies.

Very unprofessional.
 
I asked regarding the interviews being in English and was informed that it's to please the broadcasters for the English speaking and Indian audiences.
 
A few non Pakistani colleagues of mine have tuned in and have found the PSL quite enjoyable!

The quality of coverage was something that they were quite pleased with.

They mentioned it seems more serious cricket than the blast and is not as cluttered and over the top as the 100.

I've tuned in to most of the games and would agree that the PSL has done reasonably well this time around.

Anyone who is a cricket fan will tune in or check it out. It’s the casuals that are an issue, they just think cricket is too long and complicated.

I would assume most who do tune in from your work are probably old (mostly tories, it is that eay for me) ? and the young ones generally are those from the suburbs to. This is why you see privately educated cricketers playing for England and those who are not, generally will come from minority backgrounds given their parents interest.

I think the game needs the next Andrew Flintoff, not sure where he is going to come from.
 
Watched some highlights.

Do they have an automated audio playback, mimicking a crowd roar at every boundary n wicket ?
 
Lifeless commentary once again.

Mistake after mistake from the Pakistani commentators.

Horrible to listen to.
 
Why are the presenters afraid to ask the tough questions to the Pakistani players.

Today Sarfaraz should have been asked about:

his own poor performance
his future as skipper
why the constant changes to the batting order
why Guptill was dropped
Hafeez has been in and out the team why
Hasnain injury update

This is a valid criticism. I think it’s a case being too respectful/non confrontational. I think, with the right amount of tact, the presenters could ask these questions.

However, as part of the happy clappy tone, Zainab etc shy away from it.

Conversly, I think Nick Knight, Butch and Doully have been better in questioning specific tactics.

Sarfaraz Ahmed is facing the heat after dismal showing by Quetta Gladiators in their campaign so far in the eighth season of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

However, it looks like the Gladiators and their skipper is trying their best to shy away from answering tough questions from media.

A member of each team usually comes for a post-match media talk to answer questions regarding the match from media.

Out of their seven matches, Gladiators have skipped two of their post-match press conference so far.

Sarfaraz attended the post-match conference, when their team won their only game of this season against Karachi Kings on February 18.

The bowling coach of Gladiators, Umar Gul, who is known for being rather careful with his statements, was sent twice for the post-match talk.

Naveen ul Haq and Mohammad Hasnain appeared for the other two pressers.
 
PSL 2023: SHC RULES ONLY ARY ENJOYS BROADCAST RIGHTS

The Sindh High Court on Tuesday ruled that only ARY Digital Network enjoys the broadcasting rights for the PSL 2023 matches.

Rejecting the plea of PTV, the SHC in its verdict said that Geo Super cannot broadcast the matches of PSL 2023. Accepting ARY Digital Network’s stance, the SHC said Ten Sports can contact PEMRA if it needs.

Abid Zubairi, ARY Digital Network’s counsel said the stance was taken in the SHC that PTV and the PCB cannot detract from the agreement with ARY on the broadcast rights of PSL 2023 matches.

Geo Super cannot broadcast the matches of the Pakistan Super League as per the SHC verdict.

He said it would be contempt of court if Geo Super continues to broadcast matches of PSL.

It may be noted that Pakistan Television (PTV), which owns the PSL broadcast rights, made an agreement with Geo Super for broadcasting PSL matches. The agreement was made after the Pakistan Cricket Board’s approval.

These hamaray heroes interviews really are a shambles.

People being cut off rudely, people saying too much - they need to either do it professionally or don't do it at all because at the moment it's a comedy show.
 
The lady that just came on was very accomplished, but zainab seemed really jealous.

Seems like zainab has a huge ego.

If you are inviting smart, educated and intelligent people then at least give them some time to share their knowledge and experiences. If you can't even do that, then don't have this segment.
 
Zainab got jealous and cut off the Aero Engineer PhD interview lol

She was more educated, better spkoen and good looking than Zainab hahahaha
