how are you going to produce better batsmen with these kind of pathetic pitches which is a norm. The PCB could come up with this pitch for such a hyped game imagine what kind of pitches our players have to go through during domestic cricket.

This exposes PCB's underground hidden incompetences that often get away. This is clearly a proof of how much money is being spent on domestic infrastructure.

Surprising because Lahore usually has a lively pitch. The pitches against Zimbabwe had very good carry.

Seeing that Lahore pitch resemble a Day 4 Test match had to be alarming for any viewer of the PSL2 final. The pitch became progressively lower and slower, producing a terrible spectacle not befitting the climax of a major tournament event.

The outfield had numerous bare patches and looked like a fielder would require a tetanus shot if they dared to dive on it. Given that the Gaddafi Stadium is meant to be one of the nation's leading cricket grounds then one shudders to think what other stadiums in Pakistan must look like.

The excuse that Pakistan does not play international cricket at home and that it lacks the resources or funds needed to maintain these grounds does not wash. When South Africa were exiled from international cricket for decades, the stadia were still maintained to an acceptable degree. Pakistan still plays its domestic cricket at these grounds - but how can young players develop in such appalling conditions ? How can there be talk of building new stadia when the existing grounds are crumbling ?

Pakistani players often speak about how the facilities in the UAE are superior to back home, despite the faults of the UAE. PCB often talks about improving the state of the pitches and the grounds but there is little follow-through. Nobody is asking for a Lord's or MCG - just a bit of basic competence will suffice, but it seems that is asking for too much.

This pitch was exceptionally bad, I have seem better Lahore pitches in domestic competition. The curator must be held accountable.

It basically killed the final. A boring match in the end. I guess they were all too focused on security and getting a few foreigners to travel to Pak.

IF this is the standard then be glad that the matches haven't been in Pak because these tracks would have generated very poor T20 matches. I hope they work on this next time.

Not suprised. Pcb need to do something about these domestic pitches. Don't make for good cricket and won't help produce cricketers who are ready for the modern game. As you can see from our odi team.

Disgraceful pitch.

Tbh, I wouldn't have minded the gulf between the two side, if we saw PZ score 200+ and big hits were on view.

Sort it out pcb.

somebody please put a video of Bazid's Pitch report..."so many cracks, its going to be a belter of a pitch with the ball coming on.." ohhhhh these commentators....

sarmad1983 from the way Bazid was speaking you could tell he didnt have a clue what he was doing. They clearly just threw him out there thinking hes played in Lahore before he will know.

hahaha that was funny and people rate Bazid. That pitch looked like a day 5 test pitch not a T20 pitch. It just shows the hidden realities of Pakistan domestic cricket. Where does all the money really go if they can't even improve conditions of these pitches.

Maintenance and up-keep of grounds and stadiums requires money, and if the money is spent on such frivolous endeavors then you will pay for medical check-up of the PCB officials and their and their families' trips abroad? :danish

This is the crux of our batting problems. The pitches in Pakistan have been horrendous for a long while especially in the last 10 years.

Maintaining and upgrading stadiums costs a lot of money, we are talking about Rs 100 million atleast and if foreign/international teams are not coming to Pakistan, there is no motivation for spending all that money for nothing because the PCB makes nothing in domestic cricket.

Hence these pathetic domestic wickets where the wickets are slow, low bounce or the ball is seaming is the major reason for the massive decline in batting quality, talent in the last 10 years whereas the rest of the world has gone to the next level.

Out field & overall stadium I agree - NOT the wicket. It's lack of technical knowledge & initiative, moreover almost every FC team is led by aged batsmen or expired spinners - they won't like wickets that has, pace, bounce & carry. Still PCB is several times richer than SLCB & it's not even a comparison with ZCB - look at the wickets of SRL & particularly ZIM.

No excuses, for such a large & diverse country, it's possible to make 7/8 totally different types of wicket with domestic resources only. From Gujranwala to Gwadar, each & every PAK wicket is almost identical - dead slow, low & dying - on top of that, not they put lots of grass on soft wickets, built on unsettled base with very little clay. It's only the climate that makes slight difference in wickets of different areas - composition & characteristics of the wickets are identical, because everything is coming from similar head. Sack couple of idiots holding key positions & appoint young, passionate people & empower them - they'll find ways to learn how to make true wickets with local technology, resources & limited budget.
