We all have our likes and dislikes about the personalities involved but for once lets get together and get behind the PSL initiative.

This is the best thing that has happened to our country's cricket

We cannot let a few bad apples spoil this for all of us.

Let's appreciate the PCB for what they are doing which is trying to fight this out

And of course there is disappointment which is coming out of all this but lets remain positive.

Where there is loss of players due to this investigation, some young players are now getting the chance to come up also.

Lets not give up hope and enjoy the rest of the tournament.

I am in Dubai covering it for PakPassion and I can tell you that people are genuinely proud of this product as something we are doing for OURSELVES

We just need to focus on the positives and let the PCB take care of their job.

Remember, a lot of people will want PSL to fail for their own reasons (financial or jealousy induced)

yes its good job by PCB . they should continue it . no one bigger than game .Ban all these traitors

This will not effect the PSL least bit. PCB did the right thing by finding these players due to there corruption. Atleast this will give us a start we truly needed. With no chances of seeing anything fishy going on during the matches. I am just glad PCB found this out sooner rather than later. Where had they played anymore games the damage would have truly been done to the league we love.

Not a bad idea to stop these corrupted (betting and gamble) league. Should invest money on domestic leagues to improve pitches, coach staffs, players quality....

Okay. Also suggest where the money will come from.

Lets look at the positives:

1) The suspects were caught very early in the tournament just after playing one match so that would keep the rest of the tournament clean.

2) PCB is looking sincere in their efforts contrary to trying to brush it under the carpet just for the sake of maintaining reputation of the league.

3) The shady characters are getting weeded out. It is disappointing because some of them are good players but still a good thing for the future of Pakistan cricket.

4) perhaps the players will be found not guilty, who knows what the final investigation will reveal.

Lot to gain other than one genuine loss of Sharjeel . We should go with zero tolerance and set example for others as no one is bigger than the game and Pak cricket reputation.

Well done.

Good for those who are still looking forward to the tournament, but this fiasco has killed the excitement for me.

I'm done with edition, but looking forward to next year.

Good post .i am with you and will watch every match with same excitement like it was before PSl starting

How has this affected your excitement? This has no impact on the tournament itself and secondly, if it does what makes you think the same won't happen next year?

We don't know how many players are actually involved. PCB have eyed 6 so far, but it could be more, we don't know. Any weird performances shall be looked upon with suspsicion, and all this business is going to make more headlines than the actual cricket.

New year, new edition. PCB will probably take strict measures and be more vigilant over the next 12 months to ensure that the next and subsequent editions will be clean. The players might be more careful knowing that if they get caught in PSL, the PCB will not pardon them and will be more ruthless than they were with the spot-fixing trio.

Nonetheless, as I said, good for those who are looking forward to it, but I personally find it difficult to look forward to this edition, and I'm sure I'm not the only.

For me, it's a bit like the ODI series in England in 2010 that followed the spot-fixing scandal.

sometimes you get too emotional...which is a surprise as you are a doctor yourself?

corruption in cricket especially in leagues is worldwide problem. The most powerful board had to suspend their whole team on corruption charges in their league. You cannot stop them but you can dealt with it strongly when you found anything against anyone which is what PCB have done.

The only one should be depressed and crying should be Sharjeel and Latif himself. They ruined their careers. Pakistan will find another SHarjeel. just matter of time.

Did the IPL corruption scandal happen midway through the tournament? If yes, then I'm sure a lot of Indians would have lost interest in that edition. It's quite normal in my opinion.

I support KKR but I don't care about India so the IPL corruption didn't have any impact on me, but to see my country get linked with match-fixing again makes me depressed.

So apparently it's just because of a pic with a person.

the picture circulating isn't the real deal. the charge sheet indicates a serious matter however it will not be disclosed as of now.

All those investers of Master of Champions League last year, who's own product tanked, are one of those competitors that lost alot of money due to zero spectatorship and fanbase, which all went to PSL...

Those could be the ones who are pretty bitter about the PSL.. just my thoughts I don't have any proof of it

Yep, the PSL has been a revelation and will churn out quality players in the future.

We saw the emergence of Asghar, Hasan and Nawaz (he can still improve) last year.

This year, we have already seen some young players make an early impression.

Hopefully, the PSL is protected at all costs.

This spot fixing scandal will do PSL more good than bad actually. I'm sure everyone will now see that fixing is not the way to go because they will instantly be caught for even being seen with potential bookies. Also everything being cleared and investigated only in the first match becomes more proof to the fact that they have it all in place and that will go to all attempts to make sure PSL is a clean attempts.

Not meaning to be rude but the PSL hasn't done anything for Pak cricket. All we get is some cheap, evening entertainment while the players and administrators make money. The foreign stars make the most and just like in the IPL, would be laughing their way to the bank.

Pakistan cricket isn't any better off with the PSL, I just hope it isn't worse off because of it, in a few years.

PSL is as good as it gets for Pakistan when it comes to domestic cricket, and it can help international cricket return to Pakistan in the future.

More than that, it has given a platform for young players to become household names. Players like Nawaz, Asghar etc. came into the limelight because of PSL, and performing here means you can get fast-tracked into the Limited Overs teams.

Match-fixing leaves a bitter taste in the mouth though.

Even if we are to ignore all other benefits of PSL, if PSL manages to bring back international cricket to Pakistan, it will be more than enough bro.

Last thing we need is more bits and pieces, Hafeez/Malik-copycats. The spin-bowling "all-rounder" has become over-saturated in Pakistan and bringing more of these players into the limelight isn't exactly helping. You are not going to find that all-conditions test batsman in the PSL, nor will you find that world-class fast bowler in a format that is made for sloggers. These are the players that Pakistan needs and sadly, we have followed the trend and invested in this petty festival rather than improving our FC and List 'A' competitions, where the actual superstars are found.

It won't. One T20 match is not going to help. Instead of playing a one-off T20 match, the PCB should be working hard to invite Afghanistan or Ireland to play a two-match test series. It would help them achieve test status and show the world that the Pakistan can guarantee their safety for extended periods of time.

Yeah I agree. But lets appreciate PCB man, they're trying all they can. They tried their absolute best with WI, especially with that reply letter. As for PSL, its a gradual process. PSL 2 has one odd match in Pakistan, PSL 3 has half the tournament there and season 5 you get the entire tournament hosted in Pakistan.

Players should not be picked solely on PSL performances, but those good F/C performers can get fast-tracked if they do well in PSL. It is the quickest route from domestic to international cricket.

Ashwin pretty much got fast-tracked into the Indian team by starring for CSK. Without IPL, it would have taken him a bit longer to get into the Indian team.

The PCB have done well to detect the issue - now they need to close it down asap and do it well. Get good advice if they have to
