PSL needs to reduce overseas slots

credit goes to lahore, even rashid khan and sam billings could take it easy, but u could tell they were invested in the teams performance.

some teams are better at creating inclusive atmospheres than others i guess.

It's down to the players mainly and their attitude.

Players like Rashid Khan, David Wiese have made a fortune out of T20 leagues but they were giving absolutely everything in every game for Qalandars.

As an overseas player if you cannot give everything, be a role-model for the local players, then you do not deserve to be picked again.

The quality of overseas players is important to any franchise for the their brand to be successful so credit to Lahore , Multan, Islamabad and Peshawar. But with Quetta and Karachi the selections left a lot to be desired.

we definitely need 8 teams in the PSL to increase revenue and for the talent pool to increase.

This year with the Eng , Bang series and Australia and new Zealand games hindered the quality of players available but karachi and quetta have picked poorly over the last few seasons regardless.

The quality of overseas player alongside pitch conditions should determine if a max of 4 or 3 are selected for any given game.
Like ISLU , Qalandars and Sultans were justified in selecting 4.

I want to mention David Wiese here.

37 year-old and could be taking it easy as a comfortable pay day at the PSL.

However he gave absolutely everything with the bat, ball and his fielding was brilliant.

In addition, he helped and supported Shaheen Afridi as skipper.

Top, top signing and professional.

LQ will have to eventually plan to transition Wiese from player to mentor, coaching staff. His performances this year especially with the bat had dipped badly.

LQ rewards their players very handsomely for performances ie latest iPhones, Plots in Qalandars city, Cars etc.

To be honest some West Indian players are mostly guilty of this. Chris Gayle has been let go of every PSL franchise because they don't find him invested in the league or the team he is representing

I don't know why leagues worldwide play 4 overseas players per team. Should be 2-3 maximum. Goal should be to give local players more exposures.

The aim should be for PSL and other T20 leagues:

Reduce overseas slots for players who are past their best and journeymen who are no better than local players

which is why i think there should be some quantifiable conditions, maybe have 1 wildcard overseas player who might be untested.

the PCB also needs to offer significantly more money, cant lose players like moeen ali and faf to the BPL.

I think the point is that these leagues are meant to be the premier tournament so only the best players from the domestics filter through.

Having enough overseas players is good for exposure and marketing purposes which is a very important aspect to franchise cricket. It means other nations will want to put in TV rights is they see their players taking part.

Obviously, we'd all like better overall quality for the overseas quota but that will come with time so we need to ensure a high level of investment and rewards is maintained.
