anyone asking about if the matches are going to be shown in India. it will be revealed tomorrow. so please have some more patience

Never mind HD or 4K that must be decades away, but would have been good if Prime TV was broadcasting PSL in widescreen 16:9 format rather then squashed 4:3 pictures on a widescreen TVs.

Imagine - "Pakistan Super League,
Live and Exclusive in 16:9 Widescreen format only on Prime - sponsored by Hanif Sweet Centre, Raja Ilyas and Sons Supermarket and Jawad Halal Meat." :)

I was thinking of watching PSL in HD, I mean why not if MCL managed to show some forgotten stars of 90s in HD, why isn't PSL able to emulate that? I guess poor management not money is the reason!

PSL is in HD, however as far as I know most channels in Pakistan do not broadcast in HD. If you are some place like the middle east you will see the broadcast is HD

Really poor from pcb. They should have made it clear which channel is showing it in different countries we even don't know whether any channel is showing it in India or not.

lagiw teli cable ti vechew match
Aa jinab mete basan te, magar I don't think that would be possible that soon, If only I could find that no one was going to show it, they kept the uncertainty for that long for nothing at last[emoji58]

I hear the PCB has launched a free app for android users that will show free matches (link is on their FB page). Nothing yet for iOS users.

yea so if the channel covering in India has a HD variant It should be shown in HD because the production of PSL is done in HD by Sunset+Vine, same guys who are producing the current U19 worldcup.

Please change the thread title to PSL tv broadcast thread

As MCL is irrelevant in this thread

And whats wrong with those sponsors?
Primetv need sponsorship
Sponsors need to enhance their business and thats how it works.

Heard GTV will telecast the matches is Bangladesh, I ain't watching PSL no more

Najam sethi said still negotiating who will telecast in india .
i think Ten network and Neo are only options .

Ughhhhhhh it basically seems like NO ONE is broadcasting this except PTV IN Pakistan.

What the hell PCB, what is the point of doing this if no one can watch?!??!! The real revenue comes from TV. A day before the event and there's no full list of TV channels? It's so unbelievably incompetent.

Is there seriously no channel in the U.S. showing it? None in India? Rubbish. Why bother with it then? Indians would actually watch this because they love cricket.

Are you disagreeing with me? I'm sorry but if PCB is only concerned with viewers in Pakistan they'll go bankrupt. There will be NO revenue in that model. The money is in international broadcast rights, and the fact that they don't have a list of where viewers in the U.S., UK, India can view THE DAY BEFORE is a disgrace. Might as well pack it up and go home because they aren't going to make a drop in the bucket enough to continue at this rate.

I could be wrong, but from what I understand, the global TV rights were sold to Tech Front, a UAE-based media rights acquisition company. It's just that they couldn't make a deal with anyone in India. Nothing the PCB could've done, to be honest.

Ok. Where is a full confirmed list of TV rights globally from PCB? Any question is responded with "coming soon." it's TOMORROW.

All the money for something like this is in broadcast rights. they have NOTHING. Who the hell cares if it's free streaming on YouTube IN PAKISTAN. If this was just for Pakistanis in Pakistan, you have a domestic league for that. If this is meant to be an international competition and no one can watch except on illega streams, they deserve to go bankrupt in a year. Who cares if Shaun Paul performs the opening ceremony and you have international players if no one can watch it except the small percentage of Pakistanis who PAY for cable rights (as opposed to stealing cable, which PCB will get no money for).

This is mind blowingly incompetent stuff.

Frankly everyone should be tweeting Najam Sethi asking how the hell this could happen.

What is the full list of CONFIRMED international broadcasters?

They don't have any and it's the DAY BEFORE.

So literally the only people who can watch that PCB can get revenue off are the minority of Pakistanis that pay for cable rights?

They will go bankrupt after this event and deserve to. Either no one wants to broadcast it or they're too dumb to operate an international competition. Either way, no international broadcast = no value of PSL. Full stop.

Shocking that anyone is letting Najam Sethi get away this.

Firstly PCB shouldnt have sold the global rights enmasse like that.

Even then whenever such rights are sold there are minimum guarantee clauses where by the telecast must reach X no. of countries and deals should be finalised Y number of days before the event failing which the PCB can negotiate the remaining territories. This is a disaster for PSL as there is no telecast on TV in India or US.

I guess people in UK/Europe will have to watch the PSL via online streams.

I guess I from the United States have to watch via streams too, and I prefer an HD quality that doesn't screw up. I wish ESPN3 is broadcasting most of the PSL games cause I don't wanna pay for Willow.

No I am not disagreeing with you I just mentioned that Viewers from Pakistan have so many choices not only Ptv. Market I believe is both locally and globally. PCB did quite well to cater for the local population but were quite pathetic as far as global market is concerned.

Dude pcb has already sold the rights, its not upto them to find people to broadcast it. As far as the list of broadcasters is concerned many regions have already been finalized.

PAK- PTV
Geo Super
Ten Sports

ME- OSN

BD- Gazi TV

UK- Prime TV

Carib- Flow TV

Also majority of the money will come from pakistan, hence "Pakistan" super league. PCB have the money for international rights. It is up to the people who bought the rights to sell them further. It is not PCB's problem at that point. If you did even a tiny bit of research you would know this instead of predicting the doom of PCB

Hmm, that makes sense. Didn't know that. Definitely sounds like incompetence on the part of the PCB.

By the way, do you reckon the Indian public would have watched the PSL if it was on TV? I'm just curious as to why none of the Indian networks bothered to to try and get the rights.

PCB had tried to sell rights separately but as per Najam Sethi Star, Sony etc bids we see below their valuation. So they decide that they will sold it sepratley. And the amount tech front is offering is good. Better then they expected. So. And techfront had made the PSL free on cricket gateway.com

So because valuation is less they decided not sell the rights in India at all.

They decided to sell global rights to techfront. And techfront hasn't been able to get a deal done in India. They, perhaps planning to do what PCB did in Pakistan. Buy airtime in a sports channel.

The PSL starts tommorow. And i have never heard even BCCI try and buy airtime so dont think techfront or whatever will get that.

Well then, who gives the biggest cheque will broadcast it then. Also, couple of PSL Secretariat guys were saying the rights have been sold but the techfront will announce it after ironing out the details.

Sir, who knows? If the deal is done, someone will broadcast it. If not then what can we do. Was just quoting psl officials. Who I think are not even fully sure about the status if India and Australia broadcast.

There is not much cricket now.Plus the matches are in Prime Time slot.Even MCL gets viewership in India.Leave that even the midnight telecasted CPL has viewers in India thats why SRK went and bought a team this season.

I believe Techfront may have quoted a exorbitant amount as India is the biggest and most expensive market and thats why the networks backed out.As even TEN is not broadcasting this there is something very wrong.

hussain.r97 is it being broadcast in NZ? The times for some of the games are actually pretty good.

The timing is pretty similar as IPL matches timings i believe?

Also seems like PSL is only going to be live in Pakistan/BD/UK/MEast .

Yeah, the timings are similar, but there's no uni to worry about this time of year.

MCL was advertised too, but I don't think we have coverage for it either.

It's a bit too much to expect Sky NZ to buy rights for the PSL when they're so hesitant to spend bucks on the national side..

Nope, no NZ broadcast. I think it's live on the cricket gateway site though. It's being advertised on the advertising boards in games over here, I even signed up. I'm gonna check it out.

Aman

It's on Youtube too, but I think only in Pakistan. You could easily use a proxy to access the streaming.

PSL on Prime TV's TV guide now.

They will show opening ceremony at 3pm UK time and following that will be the match

Hoepgully YouTube doesn't disappoint because a lot of people will be relying on it.

No PSL telecast information on Ten Cricket Schedule in India, I have checked the whole timetable.

Maybe not updated, lets see at the time of telecast, they might have picked the rights for literally peanuts!

The reason I am aware about PSL is because of visiting Pak Passion so kinda know that a Pakistan based T20 League is starting.

But as far as TV, Newspapers or Media in India is concerned, there has been no news or even a mention about PSL.
