ISLAMABAD: In a recent interview, fugitive Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) activist Mohsin Dawar has demanded that Pakistan army should vacate Waziristan.
Dawar, who went into hiding following an attack on the military check in North Waziristan on Sunday, gave an interview to a local journalist, Gohar Wazir, on Wednesday from an undisclosed location.
“We, now, demand that Pak army must vacate Waziristan,” Dawar was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, in another video message, another PTM leader Dr. Alam – a close aide of Dawar – has admitted that the latter was heavily armed at the time of military check post attack which claimed three lives while five soldiers were among 15 wounded.
On Sunday, PTM activists opened fire at Kharqamar check post in Boyya, North Waziristan, an ISPR press release said.
“A group led by Mohsin Javed [Dawar] and Ali Wazir assaulted Kharqamar check post, Boyya, North Waziristan tribal district this morning. They wanted to exert pressure for [the] release of suspected terrorists’ facilitator arrested the other day,” the statement read.
