How you get 133 in 50 overs and are not bowled out, Multan ? That's some achievement.

Another Good day for Saif Badar, who by the look of it was probably batting at #5/6, still one position lower than his ideal #4.

And Saud Shakeel is doing everything he can, it's up to selectors and team management now.

Great to see some promising youngsters performing. Interested to see the A team squads.

Wow wow wow :raja

Look at some of those performances mak36

Makes me so happy to see nearly all the prospects performing this season- so many of them have come of age this season I don't think I could have written the scripts better myself! Have updated the relevant threads.

That said I cannot hide my disappointment about Rawalpindi's mistreatment of Nasir Nawaz and Zeeshan Malik. The former isn't even in the squad, and the latter is being made to warm up benches. Complete injustice.

Weirdly, they have picked a couple of good bowlers in their XI this season so I can only assume their batting coach is a crook.

who is the best spinner in this season till now?

Saud Shakeel, Saif Badar and Agha Salman, it's about time these three start making the national team squads.

All three can bowl a bit too.

4 day

and

1 day

That depends if you are going by stats or eye.

A lot of the left arm spinners have performed well this season. Kashif Bhatti and Khalid Usman have been among the top performers in both formats; read into that what you may. Lahore's Qaiser Ashraf is topping the List A charts. Raza Hasan has been very consistent in List A.

Zafar and Bilal have performed well in both formats.

Irfan (legspinner) has only played List A but has performed well.

Haseeb ur-Rehman looks a good offspin all-rounder in the longer format. Offspinner Waleed Ahmed has been very economical, especially in the shorter format, but will need to see how he does on flatter wickets.

Is there some way to find highlights of saif badar's clutch 58* (29) ???

They won by only one wicket and he remained not out . That's one hell of a inning.

I have seen him fighting alone in a chase on more than 1 occassion. He has the clutch gene along with his sheer natural ability.

So it was Usman Salahuddin who ruined the chances of LWHITES by playing that snail pace innings.well done numan anwar.

WEll so happy for Saud Shakil.Agha salman,Nauman Anwar,Saif Badar,Zafar Gohar,Ammad Butt.

I think, Raza Hasan bowled well also. And the WK - Bismillah.

Saud is absolutely ripe to play against AUS - he has 3 years of FC cricket and a fair bit of exposure, at the right age, and he is in brilliant form - next step is PCT, otherwise in year or two, he'll start to decline.

Imam, Azhar,
Saud, Asad, Babar, Haris
Sarfraz
Yasir, Gohar/Offie (This new guy, Tauseef's son is bowling well, took 6 for in last game)
2 Pacers - may be Wahab is one.

This should be the squad for A games (50 overs)

Jahid Ali/ Umar Amin
Nauman Anwar
Saud Shakeel
Khushdil
Saif Badar
Salman Agha
Rizwan
Ammad Butt
Bilal Asif

You are giving Waleed Ahmad a test series .that is not fair.He has just played a match or two i reckon. The rest i agree.

Umar amin, rizwan.bilal asif has enough of exposure so no need to play them. And Saud should be playing in national team instead,The rest i agree.

Danish Aziz should be there.

Why would you play Saud with such form in A team.No need for rizwan here try out new keeper and umar amin has got no business in A squad.I have not seen anything special in khusdil shah except a leg side hack but he can be played.

I wasn't agreeing with his list. My views should be in these threads:

Need an Offie against 5-6 lefties - if ready made one is not available, have to manufacture one from what is there available.

By now, everyone should be convinced regarding what I wrote on the day of Asia Cup squad announcement - what finger spinners can do at UAE, particularly the two venues - Dubai & Abu Dhabi. Nawaz, Jadeja, Shakib, Miraz, Jadav, Mujib, Akila ... even that HK guy Ejaz (?). This Asia Cup, there are more right-handers, hence SLAO spinners are dominating; Aussies will have opposite - 5, may be 6 lefti & 4 of then in top 5 : Renshaw, Khwaja, SMarsh & Head.... add Ager, Strac in it, at least 6; had Josh been there, it would have been 7. An Offie is a must for the squad, and if he is good for the XI - even more that Yasir, trust me.

Now, only Offie that I know is Bilal who isn't that reliable. There are 3 new kids - Haseeb guy took a 10 for in one game, but hardly has taken wickets in his other FC career; another guy is a new kid some Asif or Asad (?) or some thing - not sure if he is playing in FC. Third one is this guy - 25-26 officially, means he is quite mature and must have been well mentored by his dad. His FC start was good, List A start is fantastic. 38 years back, his dad was also picked probably 48 hours before Karachi Test almost from nets with little FC experience (?), ironically against AUS and he won that Test with Qasim, taking 7-8 wickets. Tauseef once bowled 50 overs for like 50 runs against AUS in 1988 Karachi Test !!!! and Aussies had absolutely no clue how to score of him - kept padding all day, and those days Umpires were extremely defensive against giving LBW to offie, & PAK fielders dropped few bat-pads, otherwise he could have ended with a 10 for.

Aussies are vulnerable against finger spin, historically it's been proven time and again. Mostly back-foot players whose main shot is punch on back-foot, tight finger spinners block their bread & butter shot - take any random pick - Laker, Tayfield, Prassana, Venkat, Gibbs, Illingworth, Yadav (Shiblal), Tauseef, Bracewell, Saqui, Bhajji, Swan, Ashwin, Dilruhan ... not to mention Murali, who is successful against almost every one. Indians know it very well, Lankans know it even better and last time Shakib took 10for at the Dhaka win; I am sure AFGs will pick both Nabi & Mujib against them ..................... and this guy Arthur & his 2 sidekicks might pick Yasir & Shadab (for his batting) - 2 leggis against 6 Lefties, and I tell you in writing here - that case PAK will end-up crying.

MMHS great post but making Arthur happy inzi can go with Agha Salman as well.he can bat.z

It'll be interesting to see how they choose the A squad who they'll select. My team for LA matches would be.

4 Mohammad Rizwan
5 Saif Badar
6 Khushdil Shah / Kamran Ghulam
7 Ammad Butt
8 Raza Hassan
9 Zafar Gohar
10 Sameen Gul
11 Fast Bowler

Doesn't that Jahid guy bat at a very slow pace? I thought he was good for FC only?

Don’t give ideas bro - he’ll swallow it. Specialist spinner - Test cricket needs specialist spinners, be at no. 11 with bat. Bowling spin on rank turner isn’t that easy job - it’s like seemers on a green top. Part-time spinners won’t work.

Nauman anwar is the player we have to invest in. Yes he hasnt shown much since that 1st tournament of his.

One thing is for sure that tournament wasnt a fluke of his. One match can be a fluke not a whole tournament.

I dont know who is responsible for changing his technique ect, but I just hope that he comes into his own and puts up some consistent performances.

Again I ll say this that nauman anwar is the opener we need to invest in. After sharjeel, nauman is one player who is great at the pull and hook shots.

Nauman can be a great asset for us he can play on both the front and back foot.

Yes he does bat a tad slow. We can have Nauman Anwar at his place or maybe Talat as an opener.I would have liked Zeeshan to be their but apparently he can't even make the Rawalpindi team.

Abdullah719 I can't seem to find any footage of Zafar's bowling this season. Please let me know if you have better luck.
