IT is that bowler husnain Shah who was sleected for psl??

Not sure how clear my first message is, so will try again lol.

The one you are mean is the one Waqar handpicked for the IU squad, right? If so, he is Mohammad Hasnain and he is playing for PTV. He took 1-32 from 12 overs.

The "Hussnain Shah" who took for 4-63 plays for WAPDA. Confusingly, his full name is Syed Hasnain Bukhari. Profile here: http://www.espncricinfo.com/pakistan...r/1122059.html

Yes dear i got it.

Thanks .at least he is playing first class cricket altough playing for WAPDA are SNGPL would have been excellent for him.

Good sign this year is that young pacers are featuring in domestic squads:

Nasim Shah
Mohammad Hasnain
Arshad Iqbal
Ghulam Mudussar
Musa Khan
SSA

etc.

Interested to see how ZBTL perform:

Aqib Shah (22 y/o captain) made 55* and 45 on what I assume was a difficult pitch given the scores.

Haseeb Ur Rehman (25 y/o offspinner) took 4-9 from 6.2 overs on the same pitch. Also scored 48 (128) at three in the second innings.

Zafar Gohar showing his quality with 3-62 from 30 overs (12 maidens).

Offspinner Haseeb ur-Rehman 6-43 from 15.4 overs in the second innings, following up on his 4-9 in first innings. Interested to see how he does against stronger teams and on less helpful wickets.

19 y/o seamer Mohammad Umar (Karachi Whites) took 2-42 and 2-40. He is from KP and played Pakistan U19 a couple of years ago. He got Salman Butt out twice so double points for him :)).

More generally, it’s pleasing to see regional/departmental are more competitive this year. For example, Karachi Whites beat WAPDA by eight wickets and Lahore Whites have outperformed SNGPL in their match so far.

Interested to see footage of Haseeb ur-Rehman. At the start of his career, seems like he only occasionally bowled (despite impressive figures) but it seems like he has become more of a spin bowling all-rounder.

Abdullah719 if you come across any videos of his bowling, kindly upload.

Alright, will keep an eye out for videos.

20 wickets at an insane average looks encouraging, and guy can bat as well. But, 10 of 20 wickets came in 1 game and rest 10 in other 10 games, which is a bit fishy. Also, at almost 26 being spinner, guy has played 10 FC games in total and fewer List A games in 5 years - which suggests, he might had left game for studies or other purpose.

Saud Shakeel with a 100! Really hope he is in the national setup by the end of this season.

Saud Shakeel with a 100! Really hope he is in the national setup by the end of this season.

It's only a matter of time, and I personally can't wait.

Apparently he has a slight problem with the short ball so I hope he is working on that.

They should start televising these games. PTV Sports needs to invest in our cricket

Cool. Is he potentially in the same bracket as Fakhar Zaman?

Their batting style is very different lol.

Saud is very elegant and a classical batsman- reminds me of Haris. Has a lot of time when he plays the ball. There should be a video of his batting in the thread I provided.

In recent times he has really improved his game in the shorter format and performed particularly well last year.

My views on him are also in this thread (pages 3-4): http://www.pakpassion.net/ppforum/s...-Saud-Shakeel-VIDEO-243/page3&highlight=mak36

Thanks brother.

ZBTL were relegated in 2015 and have only returned this year, which explains the three year gap.

Actually, I have checked data before posting - his career is absolutely blank after 2014-15. He played couple of FC games that season, after that no cricket even in Patrons trophy or grade II. Might have played Club cricket but nothing in any tournament arranged by PCB, at any level. ZBTL played Patrons Trophy in those 3 years, but his name is not in the players list. Might be injury, studies or remodeling of action, otherwise he has been quite active at junior level cricket from the age of 14-15.

Ok fab. I hope he does better than Haris.

Mir Hamza has been knocking down the door for a couple for seasons now. He was selected for Sri Lanka but then forgotten for no concrete reasons. His FC bowling average is 18 which isn't something you can just look past and he's far more deserving of selection than Rahat Ali

Not quite.

He played in the PCB's Regional Inter-District Senior Tournament in July-August 2016 (two matches) and played in the same tournament in July of this year i.e. 2018 (four matches). So actually, 2017 was the only year where he didn't play any cricket arranged by the PCB.

2016 summary:

3-37 (12 overs) and 1-60 (22 overs)

2018 summary:

50 (75) and 53 (88) and 1-33 (8) and 1-27 (14).

2-58 (19)

I see. I actually searched only with ZBTL as his profile shows ZBTL as his only Club and they were relegated for 3 years. Still very few games in almost 4 years, from later 2014 to mid 2018, and nothing in 2017 & 2015. Anyway, lets see if he can maintain his level in this season.

That PTV-Multan game actually indicates what players can gain from a FC game, played on a decent track and played for full distance - that's roughly 350+ overs at least.

Team observations:

1) NBP could surprise a lot of teams this year. If they add Ahsan Ali (opener) to the playing XI they have a pretty settled XI- decent mix of youth and experience. The fact they have invested in youth also has the advantage they will be full-strength for most the season. Could probably have done with an out-and-out pacer but look at the variety/depth in their bowling line up:

Mir Hamza
Atif Jabbar
Ghulam Mudassar
Bilal Asif
Mohammad Asghar
Kamran Ghulam
Danish Aziz

2) PTV are a young team this year- 8 of their playing XI is under 30! They have a young and exciting bowling attack with the likes of Mohammad Hasanain (18), Aamer Jamal (22) and Suleman Saeed (23). Should add batsman Nihal Mansoor to their XI. Should also add Mohammed Irfan (legspinner) when conditions suit. I imagine Hasan Mohsin will also get a chance this season.

3) Rawalpindi desperately need to add Zeeshan Malik to their side- they lack any sort of batting atm.

Good performances for:

Amad Butt: 2-53 (17.3) and 3-35 (13) vs Islamabad.

Asghar: 3-19 (12) vs FATA

Bilal Asif 3-28 (16) vs FATA

Aamer Jamal: 4-28 (19) and 2-74 (30) vs Multan.

Some good bowling from the spinners Bhatti Asghar Haseeb and Asif.
Also Raza Hasan should get a mention Multan were 243-3 and easing to a draw or win he took 5 wickets and almost bowled his team to a win.

Both sides will have felt they should have won that match. I imagine a draw must be a weird feeling for both sides.

According to this he played two matches for Zalmi in the Emirates Cup.

Otherwise his domestic cricket has been with Multan.

Thanks bhai.

Classical high arm action. Gets dip, turn, and bounce and seems to have very good control. He's made the batsman in the second dismissal look an absolute fool- completely deceived him.

Based on the scorecard, I had assumed the pitch was turning square but based on the video that doesn't seem to be the case. A lot of the dismissals are "test" dismissals- he's fortunate he's got a slip cordon and keeper who hold on to their catches!

Will need better footage to see his variations etc, but initial signs look good. Your thoughts?

p.s. lost for words by the PCB's efficiency and professionalism. 'Tabdeeli' truly has come...

Hope they upload footage of Saud's century, and the bowling of Bilal Asif, Asghar and Zafar Gohar.

Umar Gul reportedly fainted due to the heat today but he has informed us that he is better now.

I think the ages I have stated in my post are accurate. We both agree on Mohammad Hasanain (18) and Aamer Jamal (22), but I don't think there wasn't a 19 y/o bowler playing for PTV.

I think the confusion arises from a double mistake by Cricinfo. Initially they were incorrectly calling the bowler in question Suleman Saeed (rather than Salman Saeed) and made a separate profile for him. In their efforts to correct that mistake and merge the Suleman Saeed profile with the Salman Saeed profile they have instead somehow linked it with a profile for 19 y/o Mohammad Umar. As a result, Umar's name now suddenly appears on their scorecard.

As per the PCB Scorecard and the official squad list CI have got it wrong on both counts; the bowler is not Suleman Saeed nor is Mohammad Umar. It is in fact 23 y/o Salman Saeed. His profile here: http://www.espncricinfo.com/pakistan/content/player/629761.html Note the latest entry under "recent matches" and "Last First-class" which seems to confirm my view.

Happy to be corrected though.

^ I should add the Mohammad Umar they have linked it to plays for Karachi Whites as confirmed by the entry under "Recent matches" (he's the one who got Salman Butt out twice!)

Hope they upload footage of Saud's century, and the bowling of Bilal Asif, Asghar and Zafar Gohar.

Seems like they won't bother. What a shame.

Given they are already recording it and have the equipment set up etc, why can't they stream it live on youtube or at least upload the highlights of each match?

No wonder Mani is wondering why the PCB has 900 employees!
