more isolation .... :yk

Wow Mashallah, Pakistan is moving onwards and upwards at a rapid pace and this is just after 1.3 years of IK government.

You will find her visit may not have the same appeal as The British Royals but in terms of practical help for Pakistan, this is important.

Wait.

Is Netherlands a monarchy ?

Its very old, they colonised much of the planet.

The Dutch Queens are always smiling, relaxed unlike the British Royal Family.

Imo a lot of it's down to Imran Khan, he is famous world over. To meet him in Pakistan while he is PM is history being made, everyone wants to be part of it.

Wait.

Is Netherlands a monarchy ?

Seriously? It's been a Monarchy since the 19th century after the defeat of Napoleon.

Before the reign of Napoleon it used to be the first Republic in Europe. Later they realised they needed a central power to compete with the likes of Britain and France.

Some Dutch culture in Pakistan wouldn't hurt. ;)

Think some report showed that Karachi has the 2nd largest consumption of cannabis in the world after New York by volume. Makes sense given the population size and since it's not a per capita figure

Not to forget Sweden was very interested in selling us their Gripen when we were in the process of developing JF-17, and plenty of times PAF pilots and engineers were granted access to the Gripen for fact finding and checking what is required in a 4+ gen fighter.

Norway would be another coz immigrants, somehow Pakistani immigrants outnumber Indian ones massively there.(might be the only developed country).

Dutch queen arrives in Pakistan for three-day visit

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived in Pakistan on Monday for a three-day visit in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary General's Special Advocate (UNSGSA) for Inclusive Finance for Development.

The Dutch queen was received by senior officials of the foreign ministry and representatives of the Embassy of Netherlands at Nur Khan Air Base.

Upon arrival in Islamabad, Queen Maxima chaired a meeting on financial inclusion, Radio Pakistan reported.

She said that while Pakistan has made advancements towards financial inclusion more needs to be done.

In the meeting attended by representatives of UN agencies, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, Queen Maxima emphasised the need to use technology to improve financial inclusion, the report added.

Last week, the Foreign Office (FO) announced the Dutch queen's visit.

In a press release, the FO said that the Dutch queen will call on President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan during her visit, in addition to her engagements with stakeholders from the public and private sectors.

Queen Maxima Zorre*guieta Cerruti will also attend the launch of the 'Micro Payment Gateway', which the FO described as "an initiative of the State Bank of Pakistan aimed at reducing the costs of small payments and boosting digital transactions to benefit people and promote financial inclusion".

The statement had added that inclusive finance for development is one of the "key priorities" of the government and the country has taken a number of steps in recent years to promote financial inclusion.

Queen Maxima had visited Pakistan in February 2016 as well.

Don’t point out facts to cult-followers.

You got to hand it to the haters of Pakistan, they love to quote articles but can barely read.

The typical time frame for a royal visit to any country, including Pakistan, is 1 visit within 10 years.

The fact the Queen of Netherlands has now made 2 trips within 3 years, to Pakistan, tells you that not only was the respective royal protocol altered, but the charisma of Imran Khan was just too strong.

As usual, PTI supporters giving irony a whole new meaning.

If you take a break from drooling over Imran’s charisma, you might get yourself up to speed with the facts.

This is not a royal visit - she is visiting Pakistan in her capacity as the UN’s Secretary General's Special Advocate.

Her visit in 2016 was also in the same capacity. It wasn’t a Royal visit either.

Her last royal trip was in October to India, and the next one is scheduled in June 2020 (Germany).

She is in Pakistan. The most isolated country if you were to watch neighbors TV.

Irony is that you call anyone cult-follower. You are the original cult follower. You used to do sajda infront of Nawaz Sharif, and then when he got declared as looter and plunderer and disqualified you offered your services to his daughter, Calibri Nani. I'm sure if tomorrow Nani's son also enters politics you will start worshipping him as well. If that isn't a cult-follower, I don't know what is.

I didn't know the Dutch had a monarchy, but if you are going to have a queen, it might as well be a handsome woman like this one. Hope she enjoys her stay.
