Well the title pretty much sums it up.

I'm looking to order Laver and Wood around the 350 pounds range but wasn't sure if I'm going to end up paying more.

Here in Norway I'll defo get taxed highly so using the U.K is an option as I have family members frequently traveling there and back.

Thanks in advance.

To be honest I have had a very mixed experience of customs whenever I have ordered stuff from abroad to the UK. You will be charged the current VAT rate which is 20% on top of the price of the bat and maybe a minute amount more. It all depends on what person will be checking your delivery. If you are lucky you might not be charged as sometimes they don't charge if it's marked as a gift for example. Sometimes they charge the % on whatever price it says on the customs declaration label on the box and sometimes they can check what is the price of the goods in the delivery on the internet and charge according to that.

Personally, I would never put down more than £50.00 on the table for a bat WITHOUT first picking it up and getting the feel of it. It's a risky gamble to buy a highend bat online.
Yes, James has good reputation as many other leading intl craftsmen, and yes you are in Norway and unable to go to a local shop where a wide variety of bats are available.
Truth of the matter is, sometimes $70 bat feels better in pick up and balance than $500 bat.
I think if you are buying it online and will also be paying import tax n duties then you must know exactly what you want?
The most important thing is weight
then location of sweet spot
Handle shape
Concaving heavy light none?
Profile shape
etc
Also, look into Screaming cats if you are out there ready to generously open your wallet for a highend bat.
Julian Millichamp is as good as James.
I ordered a custom made from L&W , the specs were illegal but James whittled it for me; however, I was not 100% satisfied but the bat was very good so I was able to easily sell it.
I also picked up a private bin that had zero concaving. The damn thing looked like a solid beast.
