Might be a silly question. Saw Karthik keeping wickets and not Patel for India this morning, he is not in playing eleven. Did not know a reserve wicket keeper can keep wickets while not in playing eleven , or can he ?

Are you sure you wasn't watching the highlights or something?... Patel was keeping in the morning

BCCCICC changed the rule to allow substitute fielder to keep if keeper is injured and umpire approves it.

Very cunning prediction by BCCI. If rule was unchanged, Rahul would have been keeping and he is not a regular keeper.

They changed the rule recently ............

It's not a silly question at all and don't feel shy for this. I am sure, Ul Haq doesn't know that, unlike you, he is PAK's CS - hence he has sent 1 WK in a 16 member squad with 8 games in 3 weeks. 16 years back, he took a Test match to Day 5 for 15 minutes, despite 80% chance of thunderstorm (actually haven opened few minutes after PAK wrapped the chase), because PAK Captain didn't know the 30 minutes extension rule (a playing condition, that he must have signed off as Captain of the touring side).

I remember this as if it happened only yesterday however having said I doubt that he didn’t know the extra 30 mins rule if the team is in touching distance of a win ..

Oh my goodness ! Did he really say it. I thought he had Yousuf playing with him on the other end , didn’t he even know the rule ??

Inzimam to me never came as a thinking cricketer and it makes me wonder till date that how on earth was he so good in chaseing and playing with tailenders ...

Not sure if he understood the question or not, but the anchor asked him why he carried the game to next day, with a rain threat .... he responded that we tried to win yesterday, but few runs were left, so we had to come back. Anchor told him then about the extension, and he responded that he didn't know .......

Didn't know this!

What was coaching staff doing? They should have been fired.
