Naseem Shah is fit now so should play - but will he make an impact?

Good to see they retained Zahid mehmood. They have kept faith in naseem despite his bad form.
They need some good batsmen . Bowling looks fine .

Believe me Naseem will do really well in PSL - all these bowlers do!

Is he? Waqar Younis seems to think otherwise. Twisted fate that Anwar Ali is the senior fast bowler in Quetta for Naseem to ask advice from.

Quetta take Chris Gayle for their first Platinum pick!

Tom Banton goes to Quetta for their second Platinum pick

Quetta take Usman Khan Shinwari as a Gold pick

Quetta take Cameron Delport as their first Silver pick

Quetta's final Emerging pick is Arish Ali Khan

Dale Steyn goes to Quetta as their supplementary pick!

Naseem, hasnain, shinwari and steyn as well? What is this combination??

Good spinners and lot of pace in this team . Power hitting of Gayle , Azam and low order allrounders nawaz and cutting
Sarfraz to hold the middle order

Drafts today were rather strange.

Doesn't look a particularly strong squad to me.

1. Saim Ayub [E] / Tom Banton ✈️
2. Chris Gayle ✈️
3. Azam Khan
4. Sarfaraz Ahmed (wk) (c)
5. Ben Cutting / Cameron Delport ✈️
6. Anwar Ali
7. Mohammad Nawaz
8. Dale Steyn ✈️
9. Zahid Mehmood
10. Naseem Shah / Aarish Ali Khan [E]
11. Mohammad Hasnain

Lower order is quite weak, and so is the bowling unit. Too much pressure on Gayle, Azam, Hasnain, and Sarfaraz.

1. CHRIS GAYLE
2. SAIM AYUB
3. CAMERON DELPORT
4. AZAM KHAN
5. SARFRAZ AHMED (c) (wk)
6. BEN CUTTING
7. MOHAMMAD NAWAZ
8. ZAHID MEHMOOD
9. DALE STEYN
10. NASEEM SHAH
11. MOHAMMAD HASNAIN

With Gayle and Azam, they're either gonna score 120/0 in the first 10 overs or be 10/2 after 2 overs :inti

QG going to be smashed to all parts with bowlers like Hasnain, Naseem and Shinwari

Quetta Gladiators head coach – Moin Khan: “We welcome Tom Banton and Chris Gayle to the Gladiators side. We were particularly keen to have Gayle following the retirement of Shane Watson as we wanted someone who is highly experienced and a match-winner in our ranks. We didn’t have an event to remember last year, but with the players we have selected for the upcoming event, I remain confident that we will bounce back strongly.”

Really strong squad this. Let’s not doubt we playing at home in Karachi and Lahore. Only.

Good grounds for Gayle they’ll be. At 1 hundred he will surely make along with Banton, Azam, Sarfraz and lower power in cutting,Nawaz and Anwar will be enough quality I feel. Btw team has 3 wk too as options.

1. Gayle ✈️
2. Banton ✈️
3. Delport ✈️
4. Sarfraz
5. Azam
6. Nawaz
7. Anwar
8. Steyn/Cutting ✈️
9. Zahid Mahmood
10. Usman Shinwari/ Hasnain
11. Naseem

Looked like Moin Khan's wife was there helping with the picking of the squad.

Keep it in the family I guess.

Except for Azam is there anyone else in the squad from the family :irfan

My QG line-up would be:

1. Chris Gayle (F)
2. Saim Ayub (E)
3. Cameron Delport (F)
4. Sarfaraz Ahmed (C) (WK)
5. Mohammad Nawaz
6. Azam Khan
7. Ben Cutting (F)
8. Zahid Mehmood
9. Dale Steyn (F)
10. Mohammad Hasnain
11. Usman Shinwari

This was the hardest one to make due to me unknowing a lot of the random Pakistan players.

South Africa star Faf du Plessis who represented Peshawar Zalmi in the HBL PSL 2020 play-offs last November makes a return to the league as a partial replacement player in the Quetta Gladiators outfit in place of West Indian Chris Gayle.

What's the status of Chris Gayle i saw a video circulating on social media him addressing his fan's that he is on the way to Pakistan.
And now there's even rumour he is completely out of PSL?

Really like the look of Quetta this year. I think they’ve retained a core which has consistently been among the best in PSL and then improved for this season.

Fully expect an Islamabad vs Quetta final again this year, Islu to win.

Gayle is playing, Faf is a partial replacement just incase Gayle gets selected for WI T20 squad against Srl sometime in next month.

QUETTA: The first-leg of Quetta Gladiators Chief Minister Balochistan U25 Talent Hunt Program has been completed after two-day trials here at the Bugti Stadium.

More than 600 players took part in the event from Quetta and other districts which include Qilla Abdullah, Nushki, Pishin, Loralai, Mastung, Ziarat, Qilla Saifullah, Barkhan, Musakhel, Zhob, Chaghi, Harnai, Dukki and Sherani.

The second-leg will see talent hunt program move to Naseerabad on October 12 while it will be followed by selection in Hub and then onto the final trials of shortlisted players.

The talent hunt is being organized in supervision of Sports Secretary Imran Gichki and Quetta Gladiators Manager Azam Khan.
Former Test cricketer and Quetta Gladiators bowling coach, who is the head of selection panel, said that he has seen some potent in the players who can be groomed into good cricketers.

“I have seen some potential during the two-day selection process in Quetta and those players can be groomed into good cricketers with proper coaching,” Gul said.

“These players don’t have the best of facilities in Quetta and Balochistan which is why Quetta Gladiators and Balochistan government have joined hands to focus on the next generation of cricketers.

I believe that this initiative will pay dividends in near future.”

Other members of the selection committee include national junior selection committee member Sanaullah Baloch, Zafar Ahmad and Arbab Shakir.

It is important to mention here that Quetta Gladiators will shortlist 20 best players at the end of this talent hunt who will be given too of the line training in both Quetta and Karachi.
