Quetta Gladiators win the 2019 PSL by defeating Peshawar Zalmi by 8 wickets in the final at NSK

So happy for Quetta.... I hope QG do a victory parade in the city and all of Quetta comes out to greet them. They thoroughly deserve it.

Hasnain should be MoF - 3 timely wickets of top order and batsmen had very little to worry.

Hasnain - find of the tournament.

Thank you Quetta Gladiators for picking this gem!

Bravo giving special mention to Sarfraz
And saying hasnain is world class

Wow did Watson just walk way with $40k plus a bat that’s probsbly worth another $5k?

I think he himself looked a little surprised.

Why watson has been treated like a hero or something? Real heroes are those foreigners who have played in Pakistan whenever edition it was played

I was at the match today. The game itself was pretty boring compared to other games this season.

But the atmosphere was phenomenal. Electric.

Proud of my fellow Karachiites for turning up in such huge numbers.

The Peshawar openers, Imam-ul-Haq and Kamran played a huge, huge role in their defeat yesterday. Your openers should bat with a little more responsibility and should know better than that how to bat in a final. I don´t think it was a 200-run pitch, and the pressure of a final too plays its role. They looked to take on the Quetta bowlers but ended up costing their own team massively. Anything over 165 would´ve been a good total.

Either way, congratulations to the Quetta team and all their fans and supporters. Deserved winners. They might´ve had a few more trophies in the bag had their foreign stars played the final and the play-offs in 2017 and 18 respectively. As it is anyway, a full strength Quetta against Peshawar in a big match was never going to be a contest, as the three-year history too suggests. This is going down as a worrying trend for Peshawar mind you.

Shouldn't there be a celebration in Quetta with some players going? Am open top bus parade or something? It will give the city so much joy.

Saw video clips of people in Balochistan celebrating

That would be nice, but no time really. Sarfaraz etc. are in Dubai since the past day or two preparing for the ODI series.

Disagree. Should have done it. It legitimizes the victory for the city/province, gives joy to people and helps make PSL even more embedded into the culture as a brand. An important exercise for a high profile event.

Not all, but some players/coaches/owner should turn up for an open top parade after every PSL.

Wasn't Sarfaraz given rest for Aus series??

Oops... slip of the tongue :P

It appears that they have something planned for 23rd March. Yaum-e-Pakistan + PSL trophy celebration.

KARACHI: Quetta Gladiators, the Pakistan Super League champions, are going to Quetta on March 23 with the PSL trophy to celebrate with the fans on Pakistan Day.

The Gladiators contingent will be headed by the owner Nadeem Omar while others include captain Sarfraz Ahmed, head coach Moin Khan, Ahmed Shehzad, Anwar Ali, Ahsaan Ali, team manager Azam Khan and media manager Nabeel Hashmi.

“We are very excited that PSL champions Quetta Gladiators will share their happiness with home fans in Quetta. We saw jubilant scenes in Quetta when Gladiators won the title and I hope that there will be even bigger celebration in the city on Saturday when the PSL trophy arrives there with the squad members,” Nadeem said.

The Gladiators contingent will meet Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan at the CM House Quetta. They will also meet the head of Southern Command Pakistan Army Lt Gen Asim Salim Bajwa.

“We want to promote sports in Quetta and Balochistan and I will try to talk to major stakeholders as to how we can create events together for the people of Balochistan. The Gladiators becoming champions could be a big launch-pad to start sporting activities at a major in the region,” Nadeem added.

Meanwhile, Sarfraz, who led Pakistan to the ICC Champions Trophy title in 2017, stated he cannot wait to celebrate with the home fans.

“This is going to be one epic experience for us and the fans because this could probably be the biggest celebration for people of Quetta and Balochistan. We saw the videos on social media how locals celebrated Gladiators becoming PSL champions and we cannot wait to see their happiness live,” Sarfraz said.
