I am truly impressed with this young guy Tripathi who opens for RPS in IPL.

Fearless batting, loves to go after the bowling in PowerPlay without necessarily slogging. Anticipates and Reads the length very early and strikes it clean. A

Should India want to tap onto his talent and form and include him in the next major tournament. I know some would respond with the blanket response ... "IPL is a joke and not international standard". You have to watch him bat to actually believe it.

But this kid is a special talent in the shorter versions something team India can invest in for the long run.

Your thoughts.

Need pace bowlers like Umesh and not yet another superstar batsman!

would walk into Pakistan LOI teams but not good enough for India :P

Same set of bowlers bowled against Rahane, Smith, Stokes - all greats of this generation. So deserves appreciation.

I wasn't being sarcastic by calling him a superstar batsman. I do think he shows great promise and will be a very good batsman. I was just saying that we need bowlers, we already have many very good batsmen.

Quite impressed with this kid , don't know much about him but his striking today was beautiful to watch

This guy has been the watch of the tournament for me. Beautiful striker of the ball and has all the shots.

If only India stopped selecting washed up players, they could have a SERIOUS batting line-up.

Young Indian batsmen are looking good.

New bowling talent looks terrible. I had some hopes for Mohammed Siraj. The more I see him, he looks like a poor man's Munaf Patel.

He shredded a bunch of top international bowlers to pieces while illustrated star players fell around him. At one point he was 80 runs in 39 balls.

We have an extremely weak batting lineup in LOIs.

Siraj, thambi, sangwan all have looked good, most of the young pacers who have got chance have looked well, even all rounders have looked good.

He made RPS look like a potent side again and that's saying something when they got smith, dhoni, stokes and co.

Good point. RPS is already a star studded team and this kid is making a name for himself apart from the super stars. At this point, he looks more threatening on the top as compared to Rahane

The All-India Senior Selection Committee on Sunday named squads for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa and one-off Test against England. Rahul Tripathi, who has been in splendid form for SunRisers Hyderabad in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season has not been given a chance in the 18-member T20I squad. The right-handed Tripathi has struck the ball superbly for SRH and he has scored 393 runs in 13 matches so far at a strike rate of 161.73, including three half-centuries. Fans were expecting the batter to be named in T20I squad but this was not to be the case.
