I dont like UAE pitches but in terms or cricket both the completed matches so far went pretty close so its been a good watch so far in my opinion.

I thought I would never say this but if the T20 WC happens this year and in UAE, you can't do any worse than having Malik in the team...will take him ove hacks like Haider and Khushdil

Wasim talked about performing at a number where Pak needs a player. Malik performed at 1 down while Pak is needing players at 5 and 6 but, you never know.

Malik played till the 19th over though and was playing the big shots in the later overs. That's what you expect from a No. 5-No.6

Yes but, there is a difference when you go till the end coming inside first 5-6 overs with your eye set vs coming in the last 5-7 overs where you need to start going straight away.
I wont mind if he is selected considering the lack of options but, just stating the difference which is there and plays a role.

Totally makes sense, but don't think Mohammad Wasim operates in the same manner. Does not matter what he says. Mr yes man will say yes if the pressure is put on him to select Malik after couple of performances in this edition of PSL.

No doubt there is a difference. But then again he has played in that position in the past five years, so he does have the experience of playing in that position too.

Babar and Khusdil (Matching hs with Russouw)were the star performers in the second match (First match today) while Sohail Akhtar and Faheem Ashraf were top performers in the match yesterday.
Coming to this match Malik was the highest scorer but, yes for LQ their overseas players led them.

For the second time in as many days, Rashid Khan orchestrated a victory for Lahore Qalandars. This time the opposition being Peshawar Zalmi and the margin of victory 10 runs. The mystery leg-spinner stunned the Zalmi batsmen and viewers alike by snaring five wickets for 20 runs from four overs – 15 of which had come in his first over.
Qalandars now sit comfortably at the top of the points table with 10 points – four clear of Karachi Kings, the second-placed team – from six matches. Zalmi are on the fourth spot with six points
The epic collapse – during which Zalmi lost four wickets 17 runs – began in the 10th over of the run-chase as Rashid struck twice in three balls to send David Miller and Rovman Powell packing. The spinner’s next over was a wicket-maiden. He again took two wickets in three balls. The dismissed batsmen this time being Sherfane Rutherford, bowled with a slider after being set up with three consecutive googlies, and Fabian Allen, trapped LBW with a googly.
Shoaib Malik, who top-scored in the match with a fighting 73, tried to stage a recovery with his captain Wahab Riaz, but the latter had to walk back in the 16th over when Rashid, later declared player of the match, rattled his stumps.
Shoaib, however, continued to put up a resistance as he smoked Ahmed Daniyal and Haris Rauf for boundaries. The all-rounder struck four sixes and seven fours in his 48-ball stay at the crease which was cut short by a hit wicket off Rauf in the penultimate over.
The match, however, did not end without a twist as Umaid Asif spanked Shaheen Shah Afridi for two sixes in the last over.
That Qalandars posted a total which their bowlers were able to defend was because of Tim David’s maiden T20 half-century in HBL PSL. The Singapore-born right-handed batsman smashed an unbeaten 36-ball 64 as Qalandars added a staggering 74 runs in the last five overs.
Qalandars had an abysmal start to their innings as Wahab rattled Fakhar Zaman’s stumps with a perfect yorker in the first over. Tall fast-bowler Mohammad Irfan removed Qalandars’ captain Sohail Akhtar and Umaid Asif’s bouncer got the better of Mohammad Hafeez. Qalandars were 18 for three at the end of the powerplay – the lowest by a team in the history of HBL PSL.
Zalmi’s pacers bowled as many as 22 dots in the first six overs and they continued to deprive the batting side of scoring opportunities after the powerplay overs.
Wahab took a magnificent catch diving to his left to hand Mohammad Imran his only wicket of the match and send Mohammad Faizan back to the pavilion in the eighth over.
The tide turned from the 11th over with the introduction of Fabien Allen into the attack. The left-arm orthodox was smoked for a four and a six by Ben Dunk, and David spanked Irfan for a six and a four in the next over
The next two overs – delivered by Wahab and Umaid – brought only 11 runs to Qalandars.
Dunk smashed Imran for two sixes in the 15th before he was caught off Allen in the next, not before smashing him for a six. The Australian wicketkeeper-batsman struck three sixes and two fours in his 33-ball 48.
The partnership of Dunk and David added 81 runs.
The last two overs brought 44 runs for Qalandars as the duo of David and Faulkner struck five sixes with the latter blasting two of them before he was run out on the penultimate ball. Faulkner made 22 off seven.

Tim David has really impressed me. Has got serious hitting ability.
