Win or lose. This is true.

Comparable to inzi in 1992

They needed to win to make it an all time great knock but unfortunately for him Dhoni let him down. Still a brilliant innings though and he didn't deserve to be on the losing side.

ATG is a bit much but tremendous innings. Truly special despite the loss.

Excellent knock brought India back in the game from hopeless situation. If only uncle Dhoni had shown some "intent" as well :dhoni

Batted with tailender Dhoni his whole innings. If he had a proper batsman at the other end, they may well have won.

Nah, it's neither a century nor resulted in victory. You need at least one of those to be ATG, WC or not.

Cricket is a cruel sport, at the end of the day, people will only remember the result or the scorcard. Jadeja was insanely good but not enough to be remembered 15 years later.

If this is a ATG knock than so is Pandya's knock in the CT 17 final and I can assure you that knock has nothing ATG about it.

Pandya didn’t get them close at all. At no point during pandya knock could you say that India might chase this down

Best all round performance for sure.. Picked wicket, brilliant run out and catches, scored runs, he done everything in this match....

Nope, he couldn't carry his team home and couldn't bat against the good bowlers like Boult. He got lucky that he had to face most Satner and Neesham. Still a useless batsman.

From 92-6 to 205-7. Jadeja and Dhoni(to an extent) saved India from embarassment! What a player.

Not at all, he played well but to classify ATG inns bit of an OTT. Had he won the game then yes.

Brilliant knock. Had Dhoni showed more intent , it would have been a winning knock.

A win or lose matters alot in calling an ATG innings.

Examples:
1) that Razzaq's 100 still remembered as an ATG innings today. Because he won it in the end.
2) Asad Shafiq's 100+ runs innings in Australia against Australia (Test Match). Isn't considered much of an ATG knock because he fell short in the end.

What are those knocks? When was this

Precisely why I don’t rate it anywhere near an atg innings...

Comes in at number 7 with nothing to lose...
when the finishing line gets closer, pressure builds and he gets out.

Also 2016 Bangladesh moment when it comes to celebrating before actually winning the game...

he was world number one allrounder only a year ago to not to even get in the team is so strange

He was playing for his 50, what’s with the celebration. This is a semifinal, now he looks stupid

Lol! Yeah he always celebrate this way for some reason. Today was definitely not the time to do that.

India didnt win this so it wont be remembered for long.
The loss will be.

Dont know about ATG but was a great innings under pressure. It also helped that NZ were clueless about bowling to left handed batsman.

Good inning but more poor bowling, leg stumpish line. Not even a single double on the off side shows how poor the line was.

Got all his runs of Neesham and Satner, looked clueless against Boult. Decent Inngs but not even in the Top 25 for this WC let alone at ATG. What a joke.

Now he takes the second position in Idiotic celebration at the losing cause. First is ofcourse our very own nagin :cobra

He is 30 years old, that was perhaps his last WC innings.

I know, Actually was doing some other work while typing this.. Then tried to edit it but network got lose and left it as it is.

Nothing innings- didn't even really get them close. 18 runs is a LONG way short.

There's a dozen similar knocks in any year- all ultimately forgotten as utter non achievements. No-ne would even bat an eyelid if he wasn't playing for over-hype India.

Great knock specially watching live but because didnt result in a win will be quickly forgotten.

Great innings but you cannot call it an ATG knock if he couldn't finish the job.

His batting in international cricket should have been explored much long back! Should have persisted with his batting by making him play at Top 6, then his bowling/fielding would have been bonus! Just saw him as bowler all along!

i would rate imads inning better as he hot us over the line in similar kind of senario .. good inning but not ATG
