Is this Ibtesham ul haq, Misbah's son ?
(Only a query).

Yes
He has normally sound technique
I think inzi is not doing him a favour by playing him in T20 league.
He is a proper player with good fundamentals so he needs to come through ranks and first class cricket.

On sky sports I am watching the Hundred, and then also following KPL on Geo. The camera and picture quality of sky sports makes KPL coverage by Geo really really dull.
It is a new league which will grow and improve and is probably had to overcome hurdles with BCCI and India trying to stop everything or create problems. Also, the fact Geo News is not broadcast in HD in Uk Europe. Hopefully KPL will move in PSL direction and in future on a main channel.

The bigger problem I think is PCB have not invested and set up its own locally sourced tv crew, cameramen, training, production school so that coverage of something like PSL and KPL is not relied on nationals of other countries.

Just found out, he is Inzamam's son and not Misbah's.
Another FATHER-SON COACH-PLAYER duo.

Rawalakot Hawks beats Mirpur Royals in the first game of KPL 2021

Shahid Afridi's lead side won the one-sided competition by 43 runs.

Captain of Mirpur Royals, Shoaib Malik, decided to ball first after winning the toss in the first game of Kashmir Premier League 2021.

Hawks' openers, Ahmad Shehzad and Bismillah Khan welcomed Royals' bowlers with boundaries in the powerplay as the team reached 54 without losing any wicket after the first 6 overs. Both openers further accelerated and played strokes everywhere around the ground, helping Hawks post 100/0 in the 9th over of the inning.

Ammad Butt came up with the first breakthrough for Mirpur Royals as young pacer sent settled Bismillah Khan back towards the pavilion. Wicket-keeper batsman scored quick 59 off 34 with 4 fours and 4 sixes. Hawks' Inning slowed down after the first dismissal as the next batter, Umar Amin, struggled to find any connection with the ball and eventually threw his wicket away for 4 off 11. Ahmad Shehzad scored 69 with the help of 4 sixes and 7 fours while Hussain Talat's 23 and a quick 16 runs inning of Shahid Afridi helped Rawalakot Hawks post 194/6 in 20 overs. Ammad Butt bowled with decent line and length and got 3 scalps for just 20 runs in his spell of 4 overs. Young Kashmiri pacer Salman Irshad also got 2 wickets for 38 runs.

Mirpur Royals struggled in the powerplay as two top order youngsters Ibtesam Ul Haq and Mohammad Taha went back to pavilions for golden ducks. Asif Afridi came up with another breakthrough as this time, Mukhtar Ahmad threw his wicket away for just 17 runs, team being 32/3 in the meanwhile.

Two quick dismissals of Khushdil Shah and Muhammad Alhlaq increased the difficulties of the Royals as Shoaib Malik found his team being 58/5 in the 10th over of the inning. Mirpur Royals' skipper tried to keep the chase alive through his superb knock of 77 for 51. When Zaman Khan bowled Ammad Butt on 22 in his second over, Royals required 90 in the last 5 overs.

Shoaib Malik's boundaries kept the game interesting for a longer period but couldn't help his team chase a giant total of 195 as Royals fell short of 43 runs. Zaman Khan, Asif Afridi and Shahid Afridi with 2'2 scalps each, remained the star performers of Rawalakot Hawks.

No masks, no social distancing by fans at all in the KPL!!!

I struggle to understand how the government of Pakistan even allowed fans into the stadium with the Covid situation so bleak in Pakistan right now.

Furthermore, even if fans were to be allowed surely their should have been a limited capacity allowed allowing for social distancing and the wearing of masks should also have been compulsory.

Highlights of the first match show their is no social distancing at all with thousands of spectators jumping on top of each other and dancing around in the stands. None of them can be seen with any masks on from what I saw.

Surely a stupid move by the organisers?

I'm not sure how accurate twitter is but apparently you have to be vaccinated to enter the ground as a spectator

Jahaalat outdoes mostly everything in Pakistan overall that's why we see such things on a daily basis.

Their stream and camera work is so so poor that it puts even the initial PSL coverage as being international quality.

Can we have less criticism please?

First edition of the league - we have no idea what challenges they have faced so lets cut them some slack.

You can ask these questions when they do this again.

Vaccinations/masks etc - that is an issue with the country and not KPL's!

KPL 2021: Home side Muzaffarabad Tigers open their account with a seven-wickets win

Muzaffarabad Tigers beat Overseas Warriors by 7 wickets in match 03 of KPL 2021.

Half centuries from Sohaib Maqsood and Sohail Akhtar and an extraordinary ordinary display of leg-spin from Usama Mir helped Muzaffarabad Tigers beat Overseas Warriors by 7 wickets with 16 balls to spare in their first game of KPL 2021 on Saturday. (07 August 2021)

Overseas Warriors won the toss and elected to bat first against Muzaffarabad Tigers. Sohail Tanvir started the proceedings with a breakthrough in the very first over of the inning as he bowled young Uthman Ali Khan for a golden duck.

Nasir Nawaz (35) and Haider Ali (25) produced a 48 runs partnership but wickets started to fall regularly after both settled players got out, as team was 77/6 at the start of 11th over. Imad Wasim's 34 and Sohail Khan's 26 runs cameos at the back end of the inning helped Overseas Warriors post 153/8 in 20 overs. Usama Mir showed his skills as leg spinner got 3 wickets for 18 runs. Arshad Iqbal also sent 2 players back towards the pavilion.

As Tigers started the chase, Malik Nisar and Zeeshan Ashraf got off to a positive start and Tigers completed their 50 runs at the loss of just one wicket. Kamran Ghulam came up with 2 breakthroughs in the 9th and 11th overs of the inning as the left arm orthodox bowled slow and wide, to keep the ball away from the reach of the batsman. He dismissed both Zeeshan Ashraf (18) and Mohammad Hafeez (10) but the arrival of Sohail Akhtar increased the difficulties of Warriors' bowlers as both Sohaib and Sohail started playing big shots to chase the total as soon as possible.

Sohaib Maqsood played an unbeaten knock of 52 off 38 as right hander hit 4 fours and 2 sixes. Sohail Akhtar was also in a great hurry as he played an extraordinary inning of 58 off 24. There were 7 sixes and 3 fours in his knock as he punished everyone to help his side register their maiden victory in KPL 2021 without losing anymore wickets.

Muzaffarabad Tigers chased the Overseas Warriors' 154 runs target in the 18th over of the inning at the loss of 3 wickets.

KPL 2021: Shan Masood stars as Bagh Stallions beat Mirpur Royals

A 78 runs inning of Shan Masood and allround performance of Amir Yamin helped Bagh Stallions beat Mirpur Royals by 15 runs

Muzaffarabad: Bagh Stallions successfully defended their 212 runs target in match 04 of KPL 2021 where they had a challenge of beating Mirpur Royals on Sunday. (08 August 2021)

A match winning knock of Shan Masood and allround performance of Amir Yamin helped Stallions register their second victory in KPL 2021.

Mirpur Royals won the toss and elected to ball first but the decision backfired as opposition came hard at Royals.

Zeeshan Malik was an early loss to Stallions but captain Shan Masood built a 90 runs partnership alongside young Rohail Nazir who scored 36 off 28 in this 2nd wicket stand with the skipper.

Shan Masood was joined by Asad Shafiq after Rohail's dismissal and both produced a 51 runs stand before Shan got out for 78 off 45.

Asad Shafiq also played a fantastic inning of 54 off 23 and sent the ball over the rop for 4 times.

An outstanding 30 runs inning of Amir Yamin at the back end of the inning helped Stallions post 211/ 6 in 20 overs.

Salman Irshad remained the prominent bowler of the inning as he got 3 wickets for 47 runs.

Sharjeel Khan and Mohammad Akhlaq kept the game in balance as both scored 57 off 34 and 68 off 39 respectively to produced a 110 runs partnership at the 2nd wicket.

After Sharjeel got out, the following middle order batsmen could not score with the required run-rate as Khushdil Shah scored 12 off 12 and Shoaib Malik 11 off 11.

When Amad Butt also lost his wicket for a golden duck in the 16th over of the inning, Stallions got themselves in the perfect position to defend their 212 runs target.

Aamir Sohail, Mohammad Imran and Umaid Asif got 2'2 wickets each but the most decent spell of 4 overs was of Amir Yamin who conceded just 19 runs in his 4 overs and came up with an early breakthrough as well at the start of the inning.

Due to his allround performance, Amir Yamin was the man of the match of game 04 between Bagh Stallions and Mirpur Royals.

How come Gibbs is hyped up so much but not playing any games?

Malik just smashed Imad for 3 sixes in a row.

Selecting him in the middle order for the UAE is the only solution to our batting order.

Salman Irshad and Batsmen star as Royals register their maiden KPL 2021 victory

Muzaffarabad: Young and energetic Kashmiri pacer Salman Irshad and batsmen came hard at Overseas Warriors in game 06 of KPL 2021 as Royals win by 5 wickets to registered their maiden victory in KPL 2021 on Monday. (09 August 2021)

Sharjeel Khan and Shoaib Malik backed Royals' chase as team chased Warriors' 146 runs target easily on the very first ball of second last over.

Earlier, Overseas Warriors won the toss and elected to bat first against an experienced but out of form Mirpur Royals. Team failed to get off to a cracking start once again and kept on losing wicket regularly.

Only Kamran Ghulam looked determined and threatening as middle order batsman scored 47 off 35 smashing the ball for 3 fours and 2 maximums. Azam Khan took his time and tried to save wicket as wicket keeper batsman managed just 32 runs on 40 deliveries. Salman Irshad sent three most important players in Kamran Ghulam, Imad Wasim, and Azam Khan back towards the pavilion to help Royals restrict Warriors under 150.

Experienced and veteran openers of Mirpur Royals got off to a cracking start of 63 runs and scored with a run-rate of 10 until Sharjeel lost his wicket in the 7th over of the inning. Muhammad Alhlaq also got run out after scoring just a run as fans saw Royals being 65/2 in 7.3 overs, looking towards the skipper for a rescue.

Shoaib Malik joined Mukhtar Ahmed in the middle to produce another match winning partnership of 63. When both Mukhtar and Malik lost their wickets in the 15th over to young Mohammad Musa who further dismissed Khushdil Shah as well in his next over, Royals were still in the perfect position to win the game.

A 13 runs inning of Amad Butt proved enough to chase 146 despite of so much of drama and excitement in the end due to young and excited pacer Muhammad Musa who finished his spell with the figure of 4/27. Abbas Afridi also kept the batsmen in check as medium pacer conceded just 16 in his 4 overs.

Royals won their first game in the tournament after losing to Rawalakot Hawks and Bagh Stallions while Overseas Warriors are still in search of 2 points after having played 2 games in KPL 2021.

So far, the young Pakistani batsmen have been disappointing even in this relatively low-quality league.

In match 07 of Kashmir Premier League 2021, Rawalakot Hawks won the toss and elected to bat first against the home side Muzaffarabad Tigers and the decision looked a totally foolish idea after Mohammad Wasim Jr. sent Bismillah Khan, Kashif Ali and Umar Amin back towards the pavilion to claim his first hattrick in KPL 2020, the same being the first hattrick in the history of KPL as well. Hussain Talat joined Ahmad Shehzad in the middle and both played sensibly to produce an under-pressure partnership of 76 runs on the 4th wicket. Shehzad scored a fifty off 33 balls while Hussain Talat went on to score 69* off 45 balls. A 23 ball 40 of Muhammad Imran Randhawa who smashed the ball for maximums for fun, helped Hawks post 175 on the board. Muhammad Wasim and Arshad Iqbal got 3 and 2 scalps respectively.

When Tigers enetered to chase Hawks' total down, Zaman Khan started the proceedings with an early breakthrough of Inzamam Ul Haq of Muzaffarabad Tigers. Sohaib Maqsood and Zeeshan Ashraf helped Tigers cross 50 runs mark without any more loss while Mohammad Hafeez scored a 31 ball 44 to keep the game in balance. The game remained in the hands of both teams in the whole second inning while in the last over, both sides tried their best to lose the game as Muhammad Imran Randhawa bowled 2 wide balls and a full toss, giving away easy runs while Tigers' batsmen failed to play quality strokes required to get 16 in the last over. Ahmad Shehzad saved golden runs in the field before he caught Sohail Tanvir in the deep on the last ball of the match when Tigers required 2 off the last ball. Zaman Khan got 3 wickets while Asif Afridi and Muhammad Imran Randhawa bowled 2'2 players each. Hussain Talat won the man of the match award due to his sensible and heroic knock of 69*.

This is such a beautiful stadium. Is it good enough to hold International games?

The wicket is a road but the bowling and captaincy are awful.

Zeeshan Ashraf stars as Muzaffarabad Tigers outclass Kotli Lions in High-Scoring Competition

Muzaffarabad: Zeeshan Ashraf's heroic knock of 107 off 62 balls helped Muzaffarabad Tigers outclass Kotli Lions in a high-scoring competition in KPL 2021 on Tuesday. (10 August 2021)

Tigers chased Lions' 196 runs total in the 19th over at the loss of 5 wickets, thanks to a brilliant display of power-hitting from the left hand opener.

In game 08 of KPL 2021, Kotli Lions won the toss and elected to bat first on a batting-friendly wicket of Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium.

Both openers helped Lions score 48 in the first 5 overs, thanks to a brilliant inning of 35 off 16 by Syed Abdullah. Mohammad Hafeez bowled Kamran Akmal for 23 while Ahsan Ali lost his wicket for 11 when Lions had reached 85 in 10 overs.

Asif Ali smashed the Tigers' bowlers for fun in the second half of the inning as brutal hitter sent the ball over the rop for 5 times, scoring 67 runs off 34 deliveries. Saif Badar and Khalid Usman scored unbeaten innings of 28* and 19* respectively, helping Lions post 195 in 20 overs. Sohail Tanvir, Arshad Iqbal, Usman Yousuf and Mohammad Hafeez got 1'1 wicket each.

195 was a tough ask for Tigers who had struggled to chase a total last night against Hawks but Zeeshan Ashraf had dangerous intentions as Tigers' opener won the game for his side single handedly.

Taimur Sultan (4) lost his wicket early, Sohaib Maqsood failed to convert his 17 runs start into a bigger inning while skipper Mohammad Hafeez got run out without facing a delivery but Tigers still found themselves in no pressure as team crossed 100 runs mark in the 10th over of the inning, all due to one man; Zeeshan Ashraf. He helped Tigers reach 150 in the 16th over while 17'15 and 19 runs innings of Sohail Akhtar, Anwar Ali and Mohammad Wasim Jr. helped Zeeshan get a victory for his side in the 2nd last over of the inning. Wicket-keeper batsman scored his first century in the tournament, hitting the ball for 18 fours and a maximum. Akif Javed of Kotli Lions got 2 scalps.

Muzaffarabad Tigers won the game against Kotli Lions by 5 wickets with 9 balls remaining while the same is the second victory of Tigers in the tournament as they have beaten Overseas Warriors as well in game 02 of KPL 2021.

Placed at no.2 in the table, they have 4 points after having played 3 games in the tournament while Lions are still in search of a victory as team stands at no.5 with just one point.
