Hafeez was in excellent touch in this tournament before the 07 WC, I think he averaged over 50 here, what did that drop down to in international cricket?

and what happened to him after that worldcup??? How many games has he played since?

Domestic form may not instantly translate to international form. To select a player you have to see whether he has the right components to make it internationally. If you think he has the talent to bat, field and bowl then you have to give that person time to succeed. A bit like how Arafat is treated...

On the other hand, we get selections like Farhat and Butt who are given chances after chances and yet have never taken off in 20/20's.

Yes, I do have a sleective memory unlike you. That is, when I'm looking at a guy whos played international before, I check their record in that regard over Pakistani domestics (where the likes of Naved and Kaneria can get scores of 90).

Sad truth is every opener Pakistan has sucks but Nazir has at least shown he can do SOMETHING at this level, unlike Hafeez who used to be out to an outswinger in the first 5 overs in almost every limited overs game, what's his ODI average again?

But after looking agt historical facts, you should know that Nazir has as mjuch chance of failing in the first over or the 5th over as Hafeez does, only difference is that Hafeez can bowl and appears to be in better batting form.

what exactly has farhat doen to get a recall? what did fawa alam do to get dropped from tests and not be selected regulalry in odi's and t20's until recently??

What did Arafat do in county matches and yet never gets picked to play for pakistan? Even when he has been succesful on his test debut he finds himslef dropped after a couple of games for Rauf whi has done what exactly???

We can argue about this and go around in circles for ages..Bottom line is that IN MY VIEW Hafeez adds good value for the 20/20 side especially when the touney is to be played on slow and turning wickets!
