I think Butt played decently at the beginning, SR of 150 and not getting out. It was Jamshed and the Akmals who had to score at 200+, but they couldnt and thats why Lions are losing. Their run rate is still very good, its just that the target is huge.

One guy who could play through the innings at 150 SR was going to work, but it was the Akmals who couldn't go on, which is why they are losing.

People are blaming Butt too much, agreed he needed to up the tempo when Akmals got out but it was pretty much too late then.

I didn't mean it that way. I'm not blaming them. Chasing 200+ takes something special, so if you dont get it, it doesn't mean you played badly.

Lahore needed both Akmal bros to fire but they couldn't and thats why Lions will lose this. But this doesn't mean that they are to blame, its just that they couldn't do the spectacular today, nothing to be blamed for.

Butt being the less aggressive player had the easier task of playing relatively slowly but not getting out, and he did that. It was much harder for Akmal bros because the combination had to play the kind of innings Hafeez played, and no shame in not pulling it off.
