Okay, I gave in. Time for my first IPL game. Hopefully it's a good one with Kohli, Gayle and Malinga currently on screen.

LOL, that fight between Pollard and Kohli, Starc was intense.

Rohit Sharma drops Gayle. Harbhajjan drops Kohli in the slips, the next ball. This won't be costly at all.

LOL, their coaching staff includes Jonty Rhodes and Ricky Ponting.

I'd give it a go. ABD and Kohli are batting and Malinga just bowled a wicket maiden. The standards do look pretty laughable with no one giving their 100%. Here comes Rameez Raja on commentary.

Four commies commentating at the same time is a little too much.

I can't stress how amazing it is to watch Kohli and AB bat together. It's one of the main reasons why I support RCB. Tearing MI apart atm these two!

Batting really well, poor decision to let two average spinners bowl to them though.

50 for AB! Back to back boundaries. Brilliant knock.

Just saw McClenaghan's reaction to the dropped catches. :)))

If anybody wants to see how a T20 or ODI partnership should be constructed, then there is no better exhibit than what Kohli and ABD are doing now.

In the past 5-6 overs, there have probably been 1-2 dot balls. Every other delivery has been nurdled for a single, or hit for boundaries.

Amazing.

Spot on. Risk-free cricket and they've notched up a 100 partnership in just deliveries. A joy watching these two bat.

Rahane is the leading run scorer? That is unexpected.

RCB's big 3 have not let them down this year. Kohli, AB and Gayle are all in the top 5 leading run-scorers this season. Their bowling though is heavily reliant on Starc who has been equally magnificent so far.

ABD batting superbly but one of the commies is more worried about Gavasker's glasses. She needs to get on with the program, methinks.

Century for this generation's finest batsmen. Gotta love the team chemistry in RCB atm! :D

They are never going to get to 280, Rameez. Settle down.

kohli hit a full tosses at the end but really ab is a class apart from all other players in the world.

Moment of the season so far for me. The best innings of the tournament so far, the best partnership I've seen in ages between two of the classiest batsmen in world cricket. This is why I enjoy IPL.

Love the mutual respect between AB and Kohli too. Every time you see Virat speak about AB, he always says that AB is the best batsman in the world and today we saw AB calling Kohli one of the best, if not the best player in the world. Awesome to see such chemistry.

Yep, today's partnership between AB and Kohli was the highest partnership in IPL history! 215 from 16.5 overs.

AB now 2 runs behind(at a strike rate of 180!) being the top scorer after 11 games in this IPL. I'm quite glad they're playing him at 3. He'll probably get the most runs at the end of the season, he certainly deserves it.

They've finally stopped messing around with the batting order and started playing their best batsmen in the top 3 positions. Let's also take into account that AB was played at 4-5 in some of the earlier matches as well. Tbf, Gayle has played 2 less matches than everyone or else he would've been the leading run-scorer I reckon. Add to that, you've now got Kohli who's the ideal foil for these two finding his form.

Now they started showing all good catches of this competition to show fielding hasn't been really bad over all.

He should bat at #3 in ODIs too, from now on, shouldn't he?

SA should certainly consider it. However, their need is not as urgent as it was for RCB who have a mediocre middle-order and should've adapted this approach ages ago.

I really rate Faf and think he should persisted with at #3. He averaged 60+ at the WC and although he doesn't have the acceleration ability of AB, he has the technique to survive tough conditions. Also, it remains to be seen how De Kock performs post-WC as he's an integral part of what SA are trying to achieve.

However, I would be inclined to see AB come up the order at #3 in Asia as I believe he could absolutely annihilate teams at the top of the order and then he has the firepower down the order in Rossouw and Miller to really hit home those 400+ totals.

Its a shame for NZ that their captain is playing in IPL while his team is playing a warm up without him going into the Test series against England! All NZ players selected for the Test series against England must have been there in the warm up! I know another warm up is there too but still they must have been part of both the matches in order to have prepared well! But we can see the priorities!

They are unlikely to play the other warm up too.

Pollard is such a drama queen, now though he doesnt speak on the ground he still manages to irritate batsmen

Its not the approach. Everyone tries to do the same but just aren't as good as these two.

Samsonite threw it away. He could have carried RR home, though he is young but he is not inexperienced.

BTW that was a freak catch by bravo.
