Reading too much or too little from the result of a warm-up game?

Definitely a morale booster if you ask me, we are rated no.8 in the rankings list, that means every team is above and better than us, definitely I'm an optimist.. it is a definite morale booster

The result of the game isn't important.

However, the way Pakistan fought back and they way they won the game is very important and will give the whole camp a lot of confidence ahead of the competition.

It will do a huge deal of good for Fahim's confident, and it will give the team belief and confidence that they can win games when their backs are against the wall and they have to chase big targets.

Nah man....this doesn't count at all.....Although it makes you feel great, this warm up is nothing but a WARM UP......

June 4th is the real deal and tbh this was Bangladesh of all sides...... Had the boys lost this one, folks would've torn them apart back home....The general public still in Pakistan sees Bangladesh as Bangladesh and a loss to them probably will infuriate the masses......

However, at the end, it was an expected result. There's no need for chest thumping and OTT celebrations. We're not minnows, and beating a minnow in a warm up shouldn't result in massive celebrations.

Bangla is still a decent team, though like I've said earlier, they cannot cope up with a major tournament.

PAK's problem isn't new, and they haven't taken any corrective measures (wasn't helped by Sharjeel either), therefore strategy has to be within what is available.

Great morale booster for Pak.

When it comes to tournaments, momentum is everything. One heart breaking loss can severely dent a teams confidence.

Pak will be in a great position to beat India if they beat Australia in their next warm up.

What Pakistan needs most of anything is to play fearless cricket,, that brand of cricket we were known for in the 80s and 90s. This new kid today showed us how its done. If our top guys Azhar, Shahzad, Hafeez, etc learn from him, that would be great. We will probably never be consistent enough to put big scores on the board but at least show some guts, thats all the fans ask for. For once put the fear of a collapse in the back and go out and play positive. if the ball is there to be hit, back yourself to clear the boundary and go for it.

I am afraid if we dont do any of that expect a familiar first round exit.

Bangladesh's bowling is pretty bad apart from mustafizur and to some extent shakib there is not even a single good bowler present in this Bangladesh side.

It would have been perfect had Sohail been 10 years younger. The rest squad should have space for Ahmed. Imad & entirely new faces - Saud, Aga Salman, Zeeshan, Sameen, Ehtesham, Hasan Khan, even Hammad has a long career left .... on top of that, Umar must start practicing WK & one of the 2 young WKs (The U19 WK & a recent find in Karachi, forgot name) should be part of the squad. At worst case, Sarfraz might have to play as specialist batsman - then Adnan shouldn't play as WK in ODI or Kamran doesn't make a comeback at 40 years of age & 16 stone of body mass.

Bottom line is, PAK's ODI squad after CT, should trim at least 5 years on average age (& 5 lbs on average weight) so that by 2019, it's a perfectly balanced & experienced team, within their peak age. PAK is risking 2015 again, by prolonging over aged players & it'll result into carrying expired players to WC because of lack of experience among next generation.

They shouldn't let the pressure of the stage get to their heads.

Otherwise, they can do decently. Mashrafe is a weak link in the bowling.

I don't care about the result of the match as much as the hint of Razzak type hitter in our lower order. But am on the fence still as we have had a few false dawns ie Tanvir and Anwar Ali.

Ahmed is more from MoHa school of thought, rather than his ability, which in fact is self-limiting his full potential - you have to read between lines, I won't explain. This is the same guy 5 years back smashed Kiwi attack for a hundred- in NZ, in a 9 am start match, scored a run a ball hundred in SAF as well 3/4 years back - so, lack of ability isn't the only issue. Unfortunately, he has learned tricks from wrong school over the years.

Farhan is good - hope, once he gets PAK cap, doesn't try to hold on to that statistically - more or less, that has been the story of PAK batting since Anwar.

MoHa'll lead PAK in future, if he can manage to limp around for another 2-3 years - or, I haven't seen much of PAK cricket in 2-3 decades. That "limping" part is only for Arthur - otherwise, he could have easily sent someone else to walk for the toss & then lead team from 1st slip ........ PAK former players who have seen, played against or with Mazid Khan, rates MoHa at per - you don't need a bigger clue than this.

Mash is there fora different purpose, which I actually support. Previous BCB management did almost a PCB like staff - made Captain/VC replacing each other with players same age group, status, which didn't serve the team in right spirit (It's better than PCB though, because at least Sakib, Mushi & Tamim makes the starting XI on merit - PCB standard was to call back Rambo Raja or Azhar Ali).

They have installed order through Mash & allowed the team to regroup; now they have appointed Sakib as Captain for T20 (& deputy for ODI). Once he is in charge, I am sure they'll appoint one of Miraz, Mosaddek, Sabbir or Soumya as his deputy, killing the unnecessary status co.

Mash'll retire after CT, almost certainly.
