I know of atleast 10 individuals.

In Canada my mamu is an example where he had a govt job with a guaranteed top notch pension and he was making $100,000 plus a year and had lived in Canada for 7 years after getting Citizenship. But he chose to move back to Pakistan and the reasons at the time were he wanted to raise his kids back home in Pakistan, his wife was unhappy living in Canada as her entire family was in Pakistan and she hadn't been able to get into her medical field, also when i spoke to my mamu i remember him mentioning to me that he got sick and tired of the stress of having to perform day in day out.

A friend of mine graduated to the top of his accounting field and had achieved a salary of $150,000 in 7 years after graduation. But one fine day i discovered he resigned from the Big 4 firm he was working for and just wrapped up everything and moved back home. When inquiring further, apparently he was unhappy with the robotic lifestyle of the west and had been depressed for a while and felt maybe a change in scenery, environment would do him good.

My mother was telling me about a guy who had his own accounting practice in London and was doing pretty well but he just recently decided to wrap everything up and move to Dubai where he got a very lucrative offer and when i asked her further, she was off the opinion he moved for an easier lifestyle

I can tell from my own experience having grown up my entire life in Pakistan, to move from an environment of luxury to an environment where you don't have the same luxury of big houses, cars, drivers, cooks, maids, guards, helpers available at a moments notice to an environment you have to do each and everything yourself does take its toll after a while. My mother and sister moved to Canada 6 months ago and i can already see the frustration and the home sickness building. I am actually even more worried for my sister because she just recently moved to this part of the world, she is now getting married to a guy in the US and its going to be an even bigger responsibility.

Its not as uncommon as people here make it sound lol

Esp it happens a lot when someone studies in the West and returns post-graduation

and there are few threads over past few years on this as well where people have shared their own experience

I think Syed1 said he was moving back a few years ago. Did you go through with it bro and if you did how was it?

Only the elites move back or those who can afford to have cook, maid and etc etc by living off their family land and property. That's the problem with Pakistan no body is going back to create jobs or open factories but going back for an easier life.

Nothing wrong with that if they can afford it, why slog for a living unnecessarily? I think a lot of people in Pakistan don't realise that life in the west for most people involves hard work, no one will pay you to sit around and shoot the breeze. The western countries developed due to heavy industry and that takes a lot of planning and enterprise.
