Has Pakistan won any ODI series 5-0 previously? Or will this be a record?

Has there been a more one sided 5 match ODI series ever in the history of the game?

Yes we just recently won the ODI series against Sri Lanka last year 5-0. And as far as the one sided series go, i think this is the most one sided series ever lol we absolutely demolished them, it's getting worse for Zim every game.

The 24 fours Fakhar Zaman hit during his innings is the most by any Pakistani in an ODI innings

Some people mistakenly mention Gayle's 215 but that's only if you consider away and neutral together. Gayle's 215 was at a neutral venue which technically doesn't really come under 'away' :D

Fakhar Zaman - Most runs by a Pakistani in any bilateral series

Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq - Most runs by any partnership in any bilateral series

All records should be wiped off after this series finishes!!! Pathetic Zimbo team.

The 2008 ODI series against Zimbabwe was also pretty one sided which we won 5-0

Yeah but these matches we won comprehensively, every defeat for Zimbabwe was very embarrassing. The series you are referring to was also one sided, i agree but in this one Pakistan was ruthless.

That's because this Zimbabwe side is too deep with conflicts with their board. Imagine not having been paid for almost a year, how will they be motivating themselves to play. That too, with an unpredictable board without their core players and without any facilities. If Zimbabwe get to have the facilities that Bangladesh or even Afghanistan or Ireland do, they can become a very very decent ODI side atleast. Even though I fancy their chances in Tests as well, Jarvis, Chatara, Payangara and Cremer supplemented by Raza, Williams and Chigumbura can take 20 wickets if well nurtured. The last silver lining in ZC was when Allan Butcher was their headcoach back in 2010-2013. Eversince, it has been havoc for them. They have such a talented bunch, even more so than Ireland and Scotland, they just need proper structure and facilities to hone their skills.

Coming on to the ruthlessness, yes, Pakistan under Sarfraz definitely is a ruthless one. He is a captain who doesn't let his players go complacent after a victory, he is always pushing them for better results. For example, if we look at Pak Cricket from 2010 till 2016, we hardly ever won 2 matches in a row especially in T20is. It happened way too frequently that we would lose the 2nd match after winning the previous one owing to the complanceny. Things are looking much better under Sarfraz. Just hoping he can get his form back in longer formats. Even today, our batters were quite focused which hasn't ever happened before. Hopefully this trend will continue.

Yeah if Zimbabwe get all of their main players back then yes they will be a much better team and probably will be able to compete with the big teams. There structure needs significant improvements in order for the players to perform because in the qualifiers they had a full strength team I believe and they still didn't qualify, that tells you that there is something wrong in the domestic circuit.

Going back on the ruthless topic, yeah i believe Sarfraz is the key behind all of this, some people might not like when he yells at the players but i think this is what motivates them to do better. He was finding form in the tri series so hopefully he will be back with a bang in the Asia Cup/Test Series.
