A man who was the voice of West Indies cricket. Who truly loved the West Indies and so much knowledge of the game. Loved listening to his commentary. Respected all around the world.

Just wanted to make a thread of appreciation for one of the greatest commentators of all time.

Markhor a true legend. Use to watch West Indies games sometimes to listen to Tony and Jeffrey Dujon.
Saj please share any memories and experiences you had with Tony.

He's the greatest commentator of all time for me. The elitists of cricket commentary (obviously) gave him the cold shoulder owing to his non cricketing background, even his death was barely covered by the cricketing fraternity. But a seriously outstanding commentator in all forms of the game and an asset to Cricket and Journalism.

Oh he was magnificent. That Bajan lilt made for the perfect voice for commentary.

Unlike a lot of ex-players turned commentators now, Cozier thoroughly researched before every series, knew the domestic players like the back of his hand and wasn't afraid to lay into his own side if the situation merited.

He is sorely missed.

He was the sound of windies tours for me growing up. Very easy to listen to but also so knowledgeable. This guy knew the domestic players so well, really did his homework and put his point across brilliantly.

He comentated on his first test in 1965 on the radio. Best part of 30 year before I was born, yet I myself miss his commentary so much.

Staggering longevity. Irreplaceable

i often felt a lot of the amateur and non professional cricketers, like cozier and blofeld were if not usually better, certainly a refreshing change from the pro cricketer turned commentator. even today id rate harsha above the rest of the indian commentators.

the level of commentary globally has fallen off a cliff, some english commentators notwithstanding it is fairly insufferable.

blofeld, gower, benaud, tony g, nasser, robin jackman would be my ultimate test commentary team.

I miss that Bajan lilt more than anything else. He had an lovely sense of humour too, which made for some diverting moments when the play ebbed.

The Caribbean is blessed to have had three great commentators in Holding, Cozier, and Bishop.

On this day: 2016

Tony Cozier, one of the game's most respected commentators, and possibly the most authoritative voice on Caribbean cricket in his time, died on this day in his native Barbados, aged 75, after an illness.

Cozier started his career as a newspaper journalist and began his commentary career during Australia's tour of West Indies in 1965.

Over five decades Cozier had worked in radio and television, wrote books, and was published in newspapers, magazines and on the internet.

Do I miss that guy's commentary.. Such a wonderful personality. Loved his style!

Top commentator and always well versed in all players from all teams.

Also have got to say a very reliable commie to boot. Never boring, always insightful and not OTT like some
