This makes no sense, ok im all for resting Babar Azam, than why should Imad Waseem get a game? How is Imad Waseem not a senior player?

Just double standards, like how they removed Misbah, they are doing same with Babar Azam and Rizwan.

Rizwan is the best keeper in the country, hence removing him from his keeping duties makes no sense. Yes Babar needs to be replaced as captain, but be more open about it. No need to do such dramaybazi..

If you want to rest them due to a small opponent, than i have no issue. Good decision, but also drop Imad Waseem than.

The reports about Shaheen becoming captain which initially broke out were accurate. Geo news confirmed today that Shaheen accepted Sethi’s offer of him leading the side, which means Geo got this news directly from Sethi himself.

Hence, the news about resting players is also accurate

Shaheen needs rest just as much as Babar and Rizwan, being a fast bowler and all. I get that they may be trying to him back to his best but there is also the risk of injury, which would be devastating.

Imad Wasim has been ridiculously good in this PSL. Averaging over 130 with a SR of 170 while being third on the run-scoring charts all while batting in the middle order is unheard of. Oh, he can also bowl some very decent SLA.

Nawaz, despite always having my respect for his innings against India, shouldn't be in either white-ball team over Imad Wasim.

In the past 15 months, Babar and Rizwan have practically been on the road, while Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi have battled injuries.

Babar has played 10 Tests, 12 ODIs, 26 T20Is and 19 HBL PSL matches, while Rizwan has featured in eight Tests, 11 ODIs, 25 T20Is and 22 HBL PSL matches besides a few matches in the Bangladesh Premier League. Haris Rauf has appeared in one Test, 10 ODIs, 23 T20Is and 23 HBL PSL matches.

Fakhar Zaman and Shaheen Shah Afridi have demonstrated excellent recoveries from the knee injuries by playing in 10 and nine HBL PSL 8 matches, respectively. However, both star players need more time to complete their rehabilitations to regain complete match fitness. Fakhar suffered knees injuries prior and during the T20 World Cup, while Shaheen was sidelined for three months in July after picking up a knee injury in the first Galle Test. Although Shaheen returned for the T20 World Cup, he missed the home series against England and New Zealand in December 2022 and January 2023.

Simply because of the lack of decent middle-order batsmen in the country. Tayyab Tahir is not international material but no one else has lit up the PSL either. We need to find one or two good middle order batsmen soon.

They should have had the shame of resting themselves for games during the 7 match T20i series and the NZ tri series

Pakistan didn’t take a reserve keeper to the Asia cup either. They fully deserve this humiliation.

Because of these two, we looked like an absolute joke at the World Cup and had to draft in Mohammad Harris on an emergency basis! That’s how embarrassing they have been. They shamelessly watched England rest key players and Jos Butler sitting out all 7 games in that 7 match series but they have a problem with being rested now!

I retract my earlier comment.

Shaheen is an extremely immature player, as evident by his antics in the ongoing PSL. Bizarre decisions all around.

Afghanistan is a very strong team that fights tough against Pakistan.

It’s not going to be an easy whitewash for Pakistan. If anything, Afghanistan might win the series. Shaheen is a very risky captain. I don’t want to imagine these looses.

If we proceed with Babar, Rizwan, Shan in our top 3, it’s game over for Pakistan.

Shaheen is the product of Sarfraz captaining. The Afridis don’t have high ground of “unclownliness”—since you brought that up.

Shaheen is lucky to have world class talent like Fakhar, Rashid, Sikandar, and himself. But he is a jokester of a captain. Pakistan will suffer under the captaincy of a immature player who makes bizarre decisions on the field. He is an extreme player who makes severely bold and illogical choices like batting himself at #6 or bowling himself 4 overs back-to-back.

Pakistan is likely to loose 1-2 or 0-3 against Afghanistan if Shaheen is captain & if persist with Babar/Rizwan/Shan as our top 3 batters.

I comments about Shaheen’s captaincy are proven true.

Shaheen shows terrible and immature captaincy in the Qualifier against MS today. Loosing by 80ish runs.

He batted himself at #5 — one of the worst decisions this night.
