[Report] Misbah-ul-Haq unhappy with inclusion of the '112Kg' Sharjeel Khan in the Pakistan squad

I had high hopes from Fakhar up until 2019 but unfortunately he doesn't have the technique to face the hard new ball due to his deficiencies when facing those balls pitched back of the length.

Also, I don't think Fakhar (as an opener) could score brisk half centuries against a decent Australia pace attack.

For Pakistan's low standards, the performances we saw from Sharjeel in Australia were special. Let me emphasise again for Pakistan's low standards. If you're comparing these knocks against the likes of Warner and Rohit then I agree they are not special by any measure.

If Sharjeel can shed some weight and show more evidence of form then I would like to see him open with Rizwan. I just think it's irrational to write him off.

I tell you what's also different about Sharjeel in comparison to other Pakistan batsmen. He can play off the back-foot. In fact I'd say he relishes it.

The main reason why our batsmen lack the range of strokes is primarily because they suck on the back-foot.

Appears a compromise has been reached - Sharjeel's been given a three week fitness regimen with target of returning to 2017 fitness levels.

Now his 2017 levels weren't great either, but for Sharjeel this is a great opportunity which he'd be foolish to waste.

3 weeks?

If this comes to fruition, Sharjeel should write a book about it. And be the posterboy for those weight loss ads we see all the time.

We dont how much he weighed in 2017 though, wasnt super fit even back then. Maybe its just a few kgs and I guess they dont exactly want that weight but around that region for now. More importantly Sharjeel’s direction in these 3 weeks will show how much effort he is ready to put in.

If he works hard enough, he can lose 3 to 4 kg in three weeks. It will not be enough but he needs at least 10 more weeks to look decent.

3 weeks? Even keto + hardcore excerise regime cannot work this fast!

Will get be allowed to practice his #1 skill which is batting? Or it is all about fitness? If fitness is the criteri to get into pakistan team then let’s pick players from Olympic team. I would pick a sharjeel over a fit musa because he can perform in his main skill: batting.

Wonder who saw Sharjeel get on a scale and let the world know how much he weighs? Knowing Pakistani reporting/media I’m skeptical on how true that really is.

Well if he is so unfit then why select him

This fat shaming and this ridiculous ultimatum of 3 weeks to get fit is mental torture and bullying .

Its not healthy to lose weight rapidly this could effect him into the game weak drained low energy levels , or cause an injury the weight loss needs to be gradual.

Misbah needs to just reign himself in a bit sharjeel is only picked for t20 ,and sharjeel is there on merit in t20.

Sharjeel and Azam Khan in the starting XI would certainly make Pakistan the heavyweights for the WT20 championship.

Just amazing, a professional cricketer 112 kg? The worst part is that when he was out of the game due to ban he could work his a'ss off and get into shape, instead he gained over 15kg. All he needed was some hours in gym pr week and a proper diet-plan. Failing at that alone shows he is not a serious bloke.
