Former Pakistan cricketers Aaqib Javed and Moin Khan are among contenders for top roles in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), according to sources.

In his first press conference as the new Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman last month, Ramiz Raja talked about adopting a ruthless approach to fix things internally.

Having already accepted the resignation of Misbahul Haq and Waqar Younis, Ramiz Raja also forced the PCB CEO Wasim Khan out the door. Reports claim that Wasim resigned after a lot of the responsibility was taken away from him on the instructions of the new chairman.

Ramiz used strong words when he was first inquired about Wasim Khan's future at the PCB.

"If I were to talk about scrolls, then 90% of the PCB should be sacked," said Ramiz during his first press conference.

There are rumours that a number of other high-level resignations are also expected, which will open doors for others to walk into.

Moin and Aaqib, who are the head coaches of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars respectively, are the top candidates to join Ramiz in pursuit of getting Pakistan cricket back on track.

Moin Khan is well known for having favourites and spoiling players with sifarish. He was a very dubious character during Pakistan’s 2015 World Cup stint where players were blatantly lacking in training because Moin Khan would request Waqar Younis to go easy on them.

Our class of 92 in recent times have probably set our career back.

In recent times this has been Ramiz (x2), Waqar (x3) ( by default) and Inzi when he was a CS. Imran too has at times been a curse with his outdated views on cricket.

Cast the net out wider and since their retirement, Javed have leeched off the PCB. Aaaqib has ruined numerous players and seems to have a coaching job for life in some capacity, Moeen seems to be a mafia don with the number of roles he had and the way he fast tracked his son into numerous teams.

The less said about Wasim and Saleem Malik the better.

Only Mushy and Ijaz seem to have maintained some self-respect.

They could potentially be good short term contractors to provide technical advice on cricket, but you need a totally different level of talent, education, training and experience to be an effective and successful executive.

And one of the most crucial skill that such highly trained professionals have is to outsmart their own cognitive bias when making the analysis and passing a judgement to arrive at the conclusion.

At one time Peshawar Zalmi top 5 used to be Imam ul haq, Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Malik, M Hafeez , Umar Amin etc and Bowling used to be Wahab Riaz , Umaid Asif etc.
