The most senseless thing now would be if Babar retains his job as captain

Why sack the entire selection committee who were being controlled by Babar Azam’s personal selection preferences if Babar isn’t going to be held accountable for his output with those selections?

Babar will be a goner too in the coming days.

Not sure if PCB are sensible enough to have non disclosure in the severance packages. If not then these ex selectors will be throwing Babar under the bus in the media soon.

As per Aalia Rasheed, directr communications PCB, Hafeez is not interested in chief selectr post..and Wahab Riaz is a strong contender for chief selector

I think the selection committee overhaul is a sign of things to come.

The bigger heads will start to roll now. Babar will definitely go - there is no basis in which he retains captaincy now.

Mickey should go…but given the state of the PCB there’s no guarantee we can find a decent replacement who is willing for work for us. That might buy him a few more months as Australia would be a brutal baptism for most rookie coaches.

Don't know why people are excited at Babar being thrown out.

Yes he is terrible.

But we will end up with Rizwan as captain who is more comedian than a cricket player.

Pakistan head coach Grant Bradburn, team director Mickey Arthur, and batting coach Andrew Puttick are likely to be sacked, according to a local news channel.

Amid reports of Pakistan captain Babar Azam's captaincy future being in doubt, it has come to light that the Pakistan Cricket Board is set to sack its entire group of foreign support staff members. According to Samaa TV, a renowned Pakistani news channel, Pakistan head coach Grant Bradburn, team director Mickey Arthur, and batting coach Andrew Puttick are likely to be released after the team's disappointing show in the World Cup 2023 in India. The report further added that PCB chief Zaka Ashraf is set to hold an emergency meeting with former captain Younis Khan on Tuesday and announce the decision.

The board is set to conduct a review of Pakistan's poor show in the tournament where they failed to qualify for the semi-final after losing five out of their nine league games. Pakistan finished fifth in the points table with 8 points. Notably, this was the second ODI World Cup in a row where Pakistan failed to advance beyond the group stages. Even in the 2015 World Cup in Australia, their journey was stopped in the quarter-finals.

Pakistan, who were the No.1-ranked ODI team not too long ago, also failed to reach the finals of this year's Asia Cup. The debacle in the two important multi-nation tournaments is believed to be the biggest reason for the sweeping changes that are set to take place in Pakistan cricket.

Morne Morkel might get replaced by Umar Gul

This development comes a day after Pakistan bowling coach Morne Morkel quit. Morkel, Arthur, Bradburn and Puttick came on board as Pakistan reshuffled their coaching staff earlier this year. Arthur mostly supported the team online as he did not want to leave his county contract but Morkel and others were always present with the team since June this year.

A senior journalist is saying Shan will be the Test captain for Australia series and Shaheen the T20i captain

I personally would like Babar to do this Australia series as punishment for all the injustice he has done to his position as Pakistan captain

I’m not happy with Shaheen getting the job for T20i, but Shaheen would be stupid to not replace one of the 2 leeches (Babar and Rizwan) from the opening position for his Ace opener Fakhar Zaman

Good.

They should have put their foot down on Babar and his chief advisor Rizwan. Those two did whatever they wanted with this team, now the weak coaching staff pays the price

Babar Azam should definitely be sacked as a captain he had total control so no excuses for him.

Anyone will be a upgrade over a crap captain and choker like babar

Well he have led multans sultans and in domestic peshawar side so I don't care at this point I will literally take anyone
Your choice

Don’t say that I didn’t warn you.

In 20 years of watching cricket, the only good chief selector we have had is Muhammad Wasim

He picked Abdullah Shafiq, Saud Shakil, Salman Ali Agha, Muhammad Wasim junior and all have performed

There were domestic cricketers with better numbers then these four but if you are just going to open a cricinfo page and pick on stats, then anyone can become a selector

Muhammad Wasim has an eye for talent

Didn't know wajhatullah wasti was part of the selection committee

Worst player to ever play for pakistan has no cricket mind at at all
I always use him as an example of how bad a batter can be when discussing batsman strike rates herein PP. An eyesore-inducing player who is born to play just dot balls after dot balls (not said in a complement or in Dravidish way).

Wajahatullah wasti was a torture to watch ,King of dot balls. Cant remember what game it was he made 40 runs in 100 balls this was back in late 90's 0 game awareness and he was part of the selection team

So how many selectors and coaches have we had in last couple of years now? Misbah/Wasim/Afridi/Inz & Misbah/Saqlain/Mickey and likely another one.

Sure, what's another selector & coach to add to the pile.

Yes if Shan is smart (which he appears to be) then he should make some excuses & deny the offer. Sarfaraz should do the same also if Zaka goes begging towards him. RizBar created the mess & now they can't just avoid the ultimate embarrassment by ducking as usual (something they are expert at while batting). It's their poison & they should be forced to drink it. Go down under with their friends, stooges & court jesters; get the expected humiliation & after then Pak cricket can start refresh. You guys won't miss random games against Nepal, Bhutan, Uganda, Iceland now why should you get away against the Aussies? Never missed an opportunity to feast on the Junior Dalas, Magalas of the world now deal with Hazelwood, Cummins, Starc & Lyon on their own backyard. This punishment is necessary to send a message to any potential RizBar worshippers (I am looking at you Abdullah) who may have similar ambition to create their own clique somewhere down the line in next five years.

Ain't no way Shaheen will have the guts to break the status quo. Simply not happening. These guys are way too involved with each other (personally & professionally) to make any sane rational decision. If anything Shaheen being an younger emotional fool will become a dummy for RizBar. The only way what you wish might happen is if his father in law beats some sense into him.

Mohammad Wasim was better than literally every other selector. Just bring him back. Mohammad Hafeez is a very questionable character and of a low IQ.

I know Malik is hated on here, but as long as he sets his own agenda aside, he is probably fit for a Director role and seems to know what it takes for a team to go from A to B - fitness, skill development etc. Make Misbah in charge of implementing high performance standards at domestic level (No coaching, selection role)

From whatever I've seen, only these 3 , Wasim Khan and Rambo have any expertise or skill to take PAK cricket forward. But can any regime manage to rope in all 5 of them and get the best out of all 5 of them?

Agree with this. Plus I think the hate for Malik might actually be hate for Malik the player. Would love to see Malik the selector/coach/director or something to do with managing the team.

The notion of Shan, a guy who can’t make it to the playing XI on merit, being the test captain is outrageous but the typical nonsense one can expect from PCB.

I would not mind the PCB going fully unconventional and selecting the most successful domestic captain to lead the team, similar to what South Africa once did with Graeme Smith. The current lot are completely hopeless and nothing good can be expected from them.

Mohammad Wasim was a dummy Chief Selector, he surrendered everything to Babar and Ramiz. He presided over our worst home season at home.
