Pakistan Cricket Team Senior Manager Wahab Riaz submitted on Thursday a detailed report to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) outlining the reasons behind the team's lacklustre performance in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
The report, addressed to Director Usman Wahla was compiled with inputs from team manager Mansoor Rana:
"The national team did not demonstrate the required level of skilful cricket that is expected at such high-stakes events,"
"There was a noticeable lack of coordination among the players, resulting in a failure to implement our game plans effectively."
Regarding the match against India:
"The players showed a lack of coordination and passion, and seemed to lose their will to win, especially in the match against India"
In terms of future improvements, Wahab Riaz offered several suggestions aimed at enhancing Pakistan's cricketing prospects on the international stage.
These included advocating for more extensive training camps for players, increased participation in domestic cricket events to bolster skills and fitness and organizing more tours to acclimatize players to varying conditions.
