LAHORE: Pakistani spinner Raza Hasan, who was banned from all forms of cricket over doping, is set to make his comeback after completing his punishment, Samaa reported.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had carried out dope tests during in 2015 in Karachi. Hasan was handed a two-year ban after being tested positive for the use of banned substances.

The spinner did not appeal against the punishment.

In order to be cleared by PCB, he has to pass four tests. The 22-year old has given three medical examinations so far.

Since making his debut in 2012, he has played 10 Twenty20 internationals for his country. He went on to participate in the World T20 in 2012, where he grabbed three wickets in four matches. – SAMAA

he was superb when he came out and showed incredible composure in being thrown into a World Cup winning tournament. iirc though he suffered a back injury, came back less potent and then took to cocaine of all things.

difficult to see how he could ever make it back unless he sets the domestic scene alight. he has very stiff quality competition by all accounts.

yet another Pakistani talent self imploding.

One of the 4 big loses (by their own stupidity) in recent times who had the tools and could have made it big.
The other 3 being
Asif
Amir
Riaz Afridi

Alot better spinners available at the moment. See no place for him even in the A side.

Welcome back

Hope he is over his issues

Not really a big loss since we have Imad, Asghar, Hasan Khan etc.

for good future i hope he able to play cricket again but he miss the golden opportunity to play for pakistan

regularly but now he won,t be able to select for pak A .there are better left arm spinner than him in

domestic

hassan khan,zafar gohar,asghar,nawaz,kamran ghulam

The best he can do is get a PSL contract and possibly play 2-3 games in a season. He was seriously mediocre once he came back from back injury and after a 2 year lay off we can almost be certain that he would be even worse now.

yup exactly before his ban he hit a quick fire century in domestic and was also performing very well for pak

A against aus i think but he shot himself on his foot and now it is impossible for him to even play for PSL

He was a serious fighter. If you guys remeber the u-19 wc 2010 semi final it was i think ? how he was fighting till the last moment with his batting and encouraging his partner that yes we can do it despite both being mediocre bats and the match was gone.

Then from 2010-2012 faisal bank and other t20 cups he was the best youngster and was so economical. Played his part for many Sialkot victories. Sad what happened afterwards.

One of my fav domestic t20 final.
Young Raza trusted with the super over and how he made Khalid and Shahzaib look fools and defended the score and win the cup for his team.

He used to be so special in the 2010-2012 time in these domestic t20 cups. So intelligent.

was once hailed to be the next best thing. With whatever little I saw of him he was pretty cunning

On a side note: Never saw this much passion in a domestic match. Not even in psl till now.

These people. I wouldn't blame any team that does not select him.

exactly, he was soo hyped up and was indeed known as the best thing ever.

Guy destroyed his own career

Great news, was waiting for this.

He really was a special talent and with age on his side, he can still make a successful comeback, although he is down there in the pecking order at the moment.

we have so many SLAO bowlers in our system, Raza have to do something extraordinary to impress selectors.

Asghar, Zafar, Nawaz, Hassaan, Kashif Bhatti, Kamran Ghulam, Zohaib Khan

What a tremendous bowler this guy was.

If he can sort his head out, he can be the best out of the lot of the left-arm spinners.

He needs a good psl season to get back in the limelight.

He has an amazing bowling brain. Raza of 2010-2012 (t20s) was something special and dont see any SLA domestic t20 bowler of that caliber right now. He troubled the best of the lot. Remember how he got the wicket of watson 2012 t20 wc who was in hot form. Also how he used to trouble even the best of our t20 batsmen in domestics. One glimpse shown in the video which i posted above.

last time I seen RH he was getting taken to the cleaners by Shahzaib Hasan.

He is a good utility player .

In shorter formats he is accurate , and no mug with the bat.

lets not all get carried away - heres his last games before being banned - he had become unimpressive...

All you need in this age are 3-4 successful weeks of T20 cricket to get in the national team.

If Raza Hasan is still a good bowler, he'll get noticed in the PSL and be back in the Pak team in 12 months time.

What special about him and what he did ?

was the star and top wicket taker of 2004 u-19 wc winning team.
Took 80 wickets in his first domestic season at an avg of 13.
Aqib even called him better than Asif.
There were some questions about his action.

He downfall came as he became overweight and I heard he used to go to his village and eat a lot. Didnt work hard on his bowling and fitness.
