It will be interesting to see which west indies players willing to travel :sammy

need some ODIs

I know t20s are more commercially viable but we need to look ahead at 2019

West Indians are the last group of people I expect to fear for their lives. Mentally and physically brave guys in general.

Please give some matches to Karachi yaar

Dont think so that next year it will be possible but it can happen in 2019. Rashid latif was saying that they didnt even started repairing karachi stadium so how can it be full prepared security wise in 3 months

Are they scheduled to play tests first? Would still work out since they have almost entirely different teams for the 2 formats

They will play a tour game on 25th NOV....
Also their T20 team is quite different from test team. I remember Australia played T20Is with Sri Lanka early this year while their their Test team had to play 1st test against India in less than 15 hrs after last T20I game against SL.

I don't think any WI test player apart from Holder is a regular in T20Is

Also it doesn't coincide with any international fixture of WI. It is only a tour game

Interested to see the Windies squad.

Give it a little time they have to fix the stadium in Karachi first.

I would say wait for Rafi Stadium and Karachi can come back in a big way. It will become the flagship stadia in the country so Karachites need to relax and let punjab do the hard graft of getting teams to visit.

Rafi stadium wont be complete before atleast 4 to 5 years...
and after that PCB won't agree to play there...

Hmm I think these means WI will be expecting to field some of their world travelling t20 stars because much of the squad will be in NZ.

Does that mean Sammy, Gayle, Bravo's, Pollard.

Holder has a tough choice as captain- be with the test tour preparations or captain this international?

Carlos Brathwaite is the T20 captain so no issue

Does anyone know when tickets will be available and if i can buy them online ? I will be in Lahore for the last 2 T20’s really wanna go !!!

Ah ok, there's not much overlap between t20 and test teams then, perhaps just a few players at most.

It will be ready within 18 months and Sethi has already said PSL final take place there when its ready.

It is a 50,000 seater international grade stadium, of course PCB will agree. With 4k cameras, this will be a defining moment for our cricket.

That would be great progress.

Expect Windies to win if they land a full-strength team.

KyoOne No body beating This T20 team, and Windies are last team to be afraid of, they are our punching bags in bilateral T20s.

AJK main karao ek match yaar. Hum bhi to TV pe dekhe AJK. I heard its pretty safe there as well.

No way a stadium of that magnitude gets finished in 18 months. I have a cousin who works for Bahria town and he told me they are looking at the stadium as a long term project. At the minimum it will take 3 years but realistically much longer than that.

Karachi will start getting games after PSL though. PCB are trying to get PSL games in Karachi for upcoming season, which they can use as a launch pad for international cricket in Karachi.

I didn't know you could be a brave guy physically, how exactly does that work?

Great news but would have liked to see at least one other venue. If karachi is not ready then can't there be any other safe venue? Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad??

Would love to see cricket return to all.parts of Pakistan Atleast PSL should be held at one or two more places in Pakistan. Got to move forward.

They should give one match at Multan - new PSL franchise and that stadium was beautiful.

pindi and faisalabad stadium is more up to date apparently national t20 cup was shifted from multan to

faisalabad due to security issues

I see. Initially that Multan stadium was quite good and the wicket as well.

I heard WI players are unwilling to come because they will lose money due to skipping the BPL

Shouldn't be any issue actually - BPL is run as per pay as you play payment mode. WI players should lose only for those matches they are missing, which can be compensated by this series as well - $ for $, that's not much in it. However, it's not a pre-scheduled tour, so BPL might have a different clause for this one. Also, I guess there are lots of horse trading going on - PCB is ready to give big buck to WICB for coming>WICB is interested for the $, but reluctant to share the spoils with players>players know it - they want a bite of the pie, but at the same time don't want to go for a tango with WICB > so BPL comes.

I'll wait to see what happens, if PCB declares obnoxious match fee for 3 matches - say $25K/match for starters and $15K/match for bench - this is between PCB and players, rest they can settle between them and WICB. However, I am sure WICB will lose their interest to help PAK, if so happens - they would love to get the guarantee money & revenue share at their hand and pay their players themselves > in that case again BPL comes and WICB sends a skeleton of a squad in the name of West Indies, but PCB won't mind that - they need a foreign team, not names neither quality for this purpose.

Yep this isn’t probably the issue. I hope they get it sorted, wouldn’t really be fun playing a second string side.

I didn't know you could be a brave guy physically, how exactly does that work?

What i mean is you could expect someone like Ben Stokes that is billed to be the Hulk Hogan English Cricket to be the first to send out a Tweet saying "I am sorry but im not travelling to Pakistan".

Yea but the main objective for the PCB these days is getting cricket in Pakistan. They do not care if they are one sided games or not. Usually Pak manages to make even dead games interesting.

I think Sethi even mentioned that he wants full series in 2018 against some good sides.

Yeah that’s true. However a T20 series against a full strength WI side would be very exciting

Smog new hurdle to international cricket return

Renala Khurd - West Indies proposed tour to Pakistan for three Twenty20 Internationals in the end of November may be scrapped due to the smog that has engulfed Lahore, the venue for hosting the series, revels Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi on Sunday.

Talking to Nawa-i-Waqt during the Okara Super League final, Sethi said: “We are still in agreement with the West Indies Cricket Board regarding their tour to Pakistan, but the final decision in this regard will be announced in a few days. However, we have been facing some problems regarding smog , as the ICC referee wouldn’t allow us to host matches in this smogy weather. “We are also in close contact with Met Office as well and if we get any positive news from them, we will okay the series, otherwise, there is a chance it may be scrapped,” he added.

He further said that he has committed to bring full-fledged international cricket to Pakistan for which he and his team have been working day in day night.

Meanwhile, Nemat XI outplayed Mitchells XI to win the Mohsin Group-sponsored Okara Super League title here at the historic Mitchells Farms ground. Shoaib Akhtar graced the final as chief guest.

Yep it is true, Smog will definitely be there at the end of November. Better to shift venue.
