Pakistan is reportedly set to tour Australia for a three-match Test series as part of the ICC World Test Championship 2027–29.

Tentative Venues
  • 1st Test – Adelaide Oval
  • 2nd Test – Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG)
  • 3rd Test – Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG)
While the official schedule is yet to be confirmed, leading Australian journalists have backed the reports.

Meanwhile, Australia’s white-ball tour of Pakistan is also in the works:
  • T20I series: Jan 30 – Feb 5, 2026 (ahead of the T20 World Cup in India & Sri Lanka)
  • ODI series: Originally Mar 13–19, 2026, but now expected after PSL Season 11 due to scheduling changes.
Last time Pakistan toured Australia (2024), they endured a 3–0 whitewash — Shan Masood’s debut series as Test captain.

Need a covert mission to get some industrial fans on the pitch in Adelaide.

Just handover Aussies the points. I cant endure staying awake late to watch Pakistan do what it always does down under.
😭

For India - Pakistan fans its perfect time to watch first session with a Cup of coffee ☕. .

5AM start is perfect for me . :kp

Forget about winning, can Pakistan draw a test in australia? :klopp :kp
This tour has always proved the toughest for team Pakistan. It would be a decent result for them if they can avoid a 3-0 whitewash.

I'm not sure why boards are hosting so many Test matches in the first place. Even Cricket Australia is losing money.

WI is touring NZ for 3 Tests, NZ will tour Australia for 4 Tests and now this.

None of these should be more than a 2 Test series unless we see these tours have some upsets.

India should also cut the volume of Test cricket they play.

Only the Saffers have got the balance right.

Everyone is saying India should play more Test cricket but you are talking opposite.

Mohammad Abbas bring him back for Australia tour😍 I hope they select decent seamers, some more seamers in Pak domestic circuit similar to Abbas?

Pakistan need to play against Eng, OZ and SA one after the other. They need high level cricket to become better.

How will there be upsets if there is even fewer Test matches? Only way to improve in Tests is to play regularly and consistently. Fewer Tests series/matches in a series means very long gaps between the time Tests is played and it will just make the teams worse.

The same is going on in Pakistan where there is gap of Test crickets for nearly a year at time. Hard to have that and then show up at tough places like Australia and get bounced out when you are so under cooked.

WTC needs to be revised to make sure each Test series is a minimum of 3 matches. Yes, it is a money loser on the balance sheet but it's the tradeoff for longterm benefits and making sure the international competition stays competitive to numerous teams and not just the big 3.

3 - 0 to Australia
0 - 3 to Pakistan

Next!

How many Test matches does South Africa play in a year?

Pakistan need to develop 3-4 proper fast bowlers who can bowl 20 overs a day with good pace, line and length.

Pakistan should produce 3-4 proper test batsman who can bat for long hours and score 80 to 100 runs

Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood and Lyon may all be retired by then so it may be a good time to play an Australian team in transition.

However Pakistan could face a bunch of schoolkids from the bush and still lose.

Get the advertisement ready , pacers required for Pak tour of Australia, who will be the pacers, SSA fitness and priorities keep changing, Rauf is not made for red ball, Naseem has his issues , will we go the Noob route and handing debut to random rookies, or will PCB make special request to CA for spin pitches to negate the Pacers. Hopefully Shan Massod the advisor will be keeping things in perspective

dont see this TESTs happening cant find anything as such in FTP calendar, its Jan 2026 and didnt hear anything for this..
but yes they have a ODI series coming up against AUS

SA has a very big gap after WT20 , PSL and IPL , Pak could try to find a LOI series with them or out of the test championship to play tests

Template for a Pakistan 3-test series in Australia:

1st Test: Smashed.
2nd Test: Comes close to making something happen but loses the initiative.
3rd Test: Demoralized and smashed.

I doubt Cummins would have retired by then

Pakistan must pick Agha ji and Sahebzada for test team if they’re serious about winning down under.

If any Test series should happen, then it should be in Pakistan

Want to see the Aussies on these turning tracks and see them getting trashed

I politely disagree. I love test matches, many also. Test cricket has different taste and flavor and many tests in last 1 or 2 decade was so exciting and closely contested .

Its amazing to see Pakistan still getting a 3 test match series in Australia despite giving one of the worst ever performances by any touring team in Australia from last 3 decades.

It may be because of 2-3 star players pakistan have in test lineup and their some demand and popularity in Australia. Otherwise i dont see any other reason that ACB is keen to host Pak for 3 test match series.

Pakistan has mostly lost in Australia due to their bowling. Until they get proper Test bowlers who have done the hard yards in first-class cricket, they will always struggle. It was no surprise that Mir Hamza turned out to be Pakistan's best bowler in the last series in Australia. Pakistan needs bowlers who have played 80+ first-class matches and know how to put 6 deliveries on a good length on off stump consistently. Shaheen/Naseem are not your bowlers who can do that and should not be part of the Test setup in Australia.

Adelaide should be a d/n test.

You don't win in Australia if your team name isn't India, South Africa, West Indies or England.

It was surprising to see Pakistan losing in Australia in 1999 despite having a strong team.

In 2010, they lost primarily due to batting. Batting cost them the Sydney Test.

Anyway, batting seems much better now. :inti

White wash. Same as we suffered that year.
That time India was a minnow compared to Pakistan. Pakistan had a full fledged Bowling attack with Wasim, Shoaib, Waqar and Saqlain. Pakistan used to bang India left and right in Sharjah.

That's true. The Aussies were literary unbeatable at that time. From the end of the 1999 World Cup till the end of the 2007 World Cup, they created magic.

They were made strong by other teams which were doing match fixings for make Australia a hero. South Africa and Pakistan had a talent pool that time to challenge Australia by they were fixing matches which helped Australia to rise much more than what they actually could have been.

If Pakistan had a player like Imran Khan in 2000s then they could have still continued to be a strong team. Wasim and Waqar are selfish and failed to replicate what Imran did to Pak Team.

Asif and Shoaib could have been all time greats like Wasim and Waqar if they had a support system which Imran Provided
