[Reports] Shaheen Shah Afridi is unhappy with the PCB statement attributed to him after being removed from the captaincy

BTW

For all those here doing the high-horse thingy about PCB making up statements, this is not a new thing.

PCB media always put out statements on behalf of players - this is not a new thing. The only difference this time is that the player was probably angry from before this and did not want to say anything at all.

Just because its not a new thing, why is it being a high horse thingy? That's absurd.

Even working for a low life garbage employer is better than working for PCB who do some of the most absurd things ever and fans will try to cover up this ridiculous behavior as acceptable. All you have to do is look at around the world and ask yourself, who is really friends with PCB when it comes down to it and the answer is, no one because it is run by a bunch of clowns.

If I was in Shaheen's position, I would just retire from International cricket and make millions playing around the world in leagues instead of this piece of crap organization. If something like this did actually happen and Pakistan saw its premier asset lost foolishly like this, maybe then it would actually improve its ways and try to not be a bunch of complete clowns.

Why is shaheen unhappy his own father in law did lobbying for him to be captain and remove babar.

What comes around goes around .

Babar is our top player whilst shaheen is on a downward spiral he needs to concentrate more on his performances I.e getting his pace up towards a premier intl bowler and stop getting spanked and bottling it like he has been doing.

Shaheen was never captaincy material one he has an iq of a shrimp and doesn't seem very intelligent as a captain and 2 his performances himself are never consistent.

Babar is on a much faster downward spiral.

Both are going down in terms of performances. Babar has more responsibility for completely failing the team and making us minnow level, knowing nothing what it means to win.

Shaheen isn’t a great captain either but nobody changes captains after just one series.

Babar was terribly wrong this time in accepting captaincy.

No body also changes board chairmen after every 2 months like the PCB. This was on the cards. And credit to Babar, he didn't make a peep when he stepped down from captaincy. He took it like a man but Shaheen is proving to be just a boy and Shahid Afridi is proving that he still needs to grow up

You have to be fair, Babar had a very long run.

There is no comparison to what just happened to Shaheen.

He hasn't been poor he showed decent form in last 2 series against new Zealand in t20s and scored a brilliant 100 in lahore.

He had bad world cup and asia cup but even in latter part of world cup He regained some form.

But news flash pakistan made it world cup final and Asia cup final under babars captaincy.

Under shaheen the less said the better the new experiment of professor / wahabs politics tinkering , are there to see = whitewashes.

Shaheen is not wrong in his stance of being unhappy. PCB is a mess of an organization and making such statements on behalf of a player (when he is not even thinking of saying such stuff) is nothing but a great blunder and looks very pathetic when PCB accepts its mistake.

Shaheen and Babar are on one page and I want all of the other players to get together and be a unit this time.

Naqvi in his meeting with the entire team laid down the law, we have appointed the captain now and you now have to accept it and move on, if you cannot do that you are welcome to leave the team and we will replace you.

He also told Shaheen point blank that yes you were appointed as captain by the previous regime but the entire process by which Babar was removed as captain was flawed, you are still too young and immature for the role wheras Babar is much senior to you and the best player in the team.

Feel very bad for Shaheen, he was been utterly humiliated by the insensitive manner of his dismissal. If the PCB wanted to do this, they should have invited both Babar and Shaheen together for a meeting and given Shaheen the option to resign in favour of Babar and do a joint press conference together, the optics would have been so much better. This whole process and the surgical nature of this coup just stinks and is going to lead to a lot of long term resentments in the team.

Naqvi to put danda infront.

This is not the way to run cricket team especially Pakistan. You have to go diplomatically rather than showing that you are aamir now and can do anything you like. This will not work at all. I expect a lot of groupings within team. Babar going down the drain and he will himself resign after WC.

Yes Babar had a long run but we often confuse formats. His t20 results speak for themselves. We made knockouts of 2 World Cups, we also beat India.

Shaheen being appointed captain was a blunder in the first place and a result of outside lobbying by Afridi senior. He's not a bad captain but he's more valuable to us as our pace attack leader.

As per reports, Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi could be on the sidelines for part of the five-match T20I series against New Zealand in line with the policy of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to lessen the burden on leading fast bowlers of the team.

According to the report, there are ongoing consultations on the matter to protect the pacers from unnecessary burden and test the form and fitness of newcomers.

Took them 20+ years to finally realize this. Thick tank for real.

So the democratic loving interior minister. Who leaves expert stuff to expert and cricketing matters to cricketers. Likes to flex muscle.

This won't sit well.

Ousted as captain, statement released without his permission, pinned down by the chairman and will now sit on the sidelines.

Captain on no captain. Shaheen Afridi producing good for Pakistan as he bowled a match winning spell in 5th T20I against New Zealand.

4 Overs
30 Runs
4 Wickets
7.50 Economy

You know what this guy Shaheen plays for his country and gives it all in the field. He was throwing his body around and was bowling like a man on mission. All this under Babar who recently replaced him as captain of our T20 team

Shaheen literally saved Babar's captaincy today who was quick to steal Shaheen's captaincy. Thats why Shaheen is not just a better player, but a better man than Babar. Thats why God blessed him with silverware while Azam has nothing to show for.

Just 18 months ago nobody knew about Mohsin Naqvi. Just being unfairly rewarded for being the brother-in-law of some powerful person. Worst case of nepotism. Yet, pathetic sold out media is silent.

At least Imran did not promote his family members or give them high positions unfairly.

During a press conference today, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi said:

"Look, there are problems everywhere. Even if there are two brothers in a house, they face issues. If we say there aren't any, then we are just engaging in good conversation. But the reality is that the team is now in a gel-like state."

he promoted his friend rameez raja, imran khan is the politician who started this trend of politicians interfering in pakistan cricket

The ignorance of Pakistanis. The Patron of the PCB has been the President or Prime Minister since 1947. They've had the power to appoint Chairman ever since.

Political interference didn't start with Imran Khan !

Imran Khan's biggest problem was crying about this issue for decades yet did nothing to fix it while PM.
