Do you think these players can still have an impact in their respective teams?

Australia : Ponting, Warne
Pakistan: Afridi, Younis, Misbah
India : Sehwag, Dhoni, Raina
England: Kevin Peterson
SL: Sangarkara, Murli
Bangladesh : Cant say
WI: Chandrapaul, Lara
NZ: Shane bond, Mccullum, Corey Anderson, Luke Ronchi

Any other team or player?

And yeah forgot about SA.. ABD will have an impact if he comes out of retirement.

Sehwag can still smoke Bangladesh when he's 60.

Younis Khan retired 4 years ago but he is still the best Test batsman in Pakistan.

Also, I bet if both Yousuf and Misbah train hard for a few months and get their fitness up and running, they will still score more runs than everyone else in the Test side including Babar, Azhar and Fawad.

Afridi is still a better all-rounder than Shadab.

It really is a sad indictment of how little talent and ability Pakistan possess.

True, and he 's probably still the best player of spin in all of Asia.

And as for Sri Lanka, I'm sure Kumar Sangakkara can still make a comeback. The man looks super fit.

Sangakkara is still good but Sehwag is done. His eyesight is gone and he looked awful in his last few outings in IPL as well as in exhibition games in recent years.

He will not average beyond 20s in international cricket today in any conditions.

Wasim Akram.
He still swings it both ways like a banana.

He bowled in one of the exhibition games a few years ago....

He is still am active cricketer. Moved to USA.

If you are including then you should also add Sami Aslam

Dhoni shouldn't be on that list.. The only difference he can make is lose us more matches..

Even 70mph is enough pace to trouble Shoaib Malik

Sir Alistair Cook would still be better than the current England openers.

Probably the only one we can be certain of in this thread, Cook could have played for another 10 years if he wanted. Tough nut to crack, always finds ways to score runs and come through tough periods in his career.

Afridi as a spinner in T20I's

Younis maybe

Warne I think would as well but subject to fitness of some kind at least

Misbah, seriously ? not a serious thread.

Misbah, seriously ? not a serious thread.
Misbah was a fanatic back in the day practising for hours upon hours everyday and hence he played a gazillion matches in domestic cricket. I wont be surprised if he still practices on his batting skills.

If I needed to put some money on the line on who would score a 50 on comeback against a top bowling attack, it would be Misbah.

Cook would still be among the top 2-3 openers in the world let alone the best in England.

His retirement was premature - playing 150+ Tests over 12 years whilst doing the toughest job in the game as well as captaining the side for 5 years took its toll on him.

He was exhausted and a break would have helped him immensely. Unfortunately, it seems like he lost the hunger to play and once that goes it is very hard to get back.
