Is this the first time Sharmaji came good in a decider? I don't remember any other innings of him in a series decider or a final. It another thing the pitch was a super patta. But then so are most of the LOI pitches these days.

To answer your question, no!

His 137 in 2015 WC QF saved India from an embarrassing exit.

His 209 against Ozzies was a series decider.

I'm sure there are other innings as well, but you get the drift.

Just off the top of my head, there have been two instances in recent times.

India vs New Zealand series 2017. Scored 140 odd.

Nidahas trophy final recently. Hit a brisk
fifty.

137 in 2015 Semi Final, 209 vs Aussies (2013), (2017) New Zealand 149 i guess, New Zealand (2016) scored imp 70 odd in low scoring match, Recent Nidhas Trophy, 2015 Ipl final he was mom for scoring 50 odd with 200+ strike rate i guess. He is not best but not worst in deciders as well.

His 118 in 43 balls in 2nd match against lanka was series saver and 'do or die situation' as india had lost the 1st match in 3 match series. Losing it meant losing series. He also has half century in CB series finals and his innings against SA in T20 WC was crucial too.

He is fantastic whenever the ball doesn't move, whatever be the circumstances.

One of the best LO player going around.

Rohit is possibly the GOAT batsman on flat pitches LOIs. Mind you its not a bad thing, mny LOI pitches are absolutely pancakes nowadays and Rohit is absolutely merciless on those. He's a huge reason India became such a force in LOIs since 2015. 3 double tons is not a joke.

One of the best LO batsmen in the world. Once he gets going he's unstopabble. One thing i don't like about him is at the start of his innings he consumes a lot of balls and doesn't show intent.

Rohit Sharma becomes the first batsman in history to score 3 centuries in each format of international cricket - 3 in Tests, 17 in ODIs, 3 in T20Is.

Sharma is what Sehwag was in tests.

Their weaknesses and strengths are similar.

However, their approach towards a limited over match was different. Since Sehwag didnt do much in T20s, let's talk about odis for comparison sake.

Rohit has learned the art of batting long and play complete 50-overs. He starts slowly and once he gets set in, he bats according to the team situation and bats long. During the final 15 overs, he will start going berserk. Sometimes, he leaves it a bit late though.

In contrast, Sehwag would leave this 50-overs complete batting work for someone like Tendulkar to do or let Yuvi-Dhoni do the finishing job. He will go berserk up the order from the first ball itself and give a flying start, which allows Gambhir at 3 to take his time to get in.

Sehwag was more of a boundary hitter whereas Sharmaji deals in sixes. Also I beleive Sharma has more stamina than Sehwag to go all the way.

I meant both are GOAT tier bullies in favorable conditions but weak in unfavorable conditions. Their playing style is completely different.
