So basically you are saying that because cricket is so popular in the country, this should basically be exploited and even if these cricketers are literally being paid 100 times more then the people they are representing, they are still being underpaid?

Yes - movie stars and celebrities do get paid insane amounts. But do you think it's justified for the movie stars and specially "celebrities" like the Kardashians to be paid so much for what the do buddy?

Ok - on the first point let's agree to disagree. I get what you're saying about supply and demand but in my mind if cricket is so valuable to Pakistanis, rather than raising the pay for the players that money should be invested into improving the cricketing structure within the country in my opinion, which is desperately needed to keep the sport alive in the country.

And ofcourse - the board pays them what they are worth and nothing more. However, all I am saying is that in my opinion based on what they are doing and who they are representing these players are by no means under paid Alhumdullilah.

This website suggests Afridis salary is approx $2.5million and his net worth is $47million. I wouldn't call that underpaid by any standard.

For those saying this is too much is just ridiculous, the amount these guys earn is well below par for international sportsman.

Lesser established ranji trophy players (excluding IPL earnings) earn $50,000 - $60,000 and we see Pakistan's equivalent in Zia Ul Haq earning peanuts of $5,000.

Not saying Pakistan players should earn the same as NFL and soccer players but the top players should at least be touching $1m.

If you don't like seeing pakistan players earn a better salary, ask yourself this do you want all the hundreds and millions the PCB make go to the likes of Sethi and shahryar. You are the very lot why corruption in pakistan thrives and why we see the likes of Zardari stealing Pakistan's billions.

Let us settle all the drivel that has been posted on here that Pakistan players earn too much by using just a bit of common sense because this forum is certainly lacking some! If a football player earns millions because they generate good money for their club why can't Pak cricketers be treated with healthy salaries given they are the reason why PCB makes hundreds of millions they do???

Also, if you were working and your contributions at work were instrumental to the profit increase in your firm, would you not expect a pay rise? Hypocrisy + Jealousy much???

In the old days, PCB didn't make much money, in fact there wasn't much of it in the entire game, hence the modest salaries amongst all teams back then but now the tide has changed, about time Pakistan players get paid what they deserve instead of seeing them worse off than every test side out there.
