It was only a 30 minute session but it was one that will help young Arjun Tendulkar in the long run.

The 15-year-old Mumbai all-rounder was seen working in the nets with Pakistan great Wasim Akram half an hour before the Kolkata Knight Riders' training session on Wednesday evening at the Wankhede.

Sachin himself was present in the nets as he watched his eager beaver son pick Akram's brains. With close to 1000 international wickets, the former Pakistan skipper is regarded as the best left-arm pacer to have played the game.

Asked what the discussion was about, Akram said, "I've met Arjun before in an exhibition game in England last summer. He was bowling and I was fielding at mid-on and I think he got Brian Lara out in that game. He's a left arm fast bowler like me. He was asking me about his action. I talked to him about swing, fitness and like his dad, he seems to be very particular about fitness."

Akram is the mentor of the KKR team and it was only recently that India pacer Umesh Yadav had credited him for the change in his fortunes.

"I have learnt a lot from him (Akram). I enjoy working with him. He talks about swing and controlling the ball. The more you are able to control the ball the better you will be able to control the swing. So he tells me how to control the ball," Yadav had said recently.

from what I remember Tendulkar's son had Nasir Jamshed like physique so dunno how being a left arm fast bowler works

indian agent hai , im sure if his son would have been playing cricket he would have played for india :msd

Is that in Punjabi what you said? Please translate for us in English.

some words don't have the same fact after translation and lose their charm, and it isn't such a great comment that you would love to know what it mean, it is X-Rated to say the least, so you are better without reading translation of this. LOL

:P It's because of his undivided love for us Indians that he receives so much for from us and our country, probably more than even in Pakistan. The guy truly has love for India in his heart, and we love him for that.

why not declare him indian by birth somehow, so that you guys can also claim his record as proud indian, and honour him with Bharat Ratna or something like that which is biggest award for a civilian.

He won't agree with it. He has always claimed to be a proud Pakistani.

Arjun Tendulkar is tallest, fittest and looks youngest in his age group team.

Arjun Tendulkar will play for India very soon, He is rated equally well both with bat and ball, genuine all-rounder.

Look how tall he is compared to his parents, he is only 16.

long way to go for this kid...hope he's not over burdened by the expectations..we all saw how the son of the legend gavaskar turned out.

Just let the poor kid play cricket. He's already burdened with carrying his dad's name and shouldn't have these ridiculous expectations. Apart from his family name he's not any different from any other kid in India who plays cricket.

undivided,
unconditional,
devoted
LOVE ;)

These posts are interesting...very interesting.

As for Arjun, hope we see him in a domestic game soon.

Tendulkar's son looks close to 6 feet. He does not look small sitting next to Wasim Akram. Might as well grow to be 6'2 since he is only 15.

If he really has talent, he will play for Mumbai soon. May be in a couple of years, he will play his first IPL game. We will definitely get to see what he is made of.

He will be a great asset even half as good as his dad.

Some posts suggested that he is more like Arjuna Tendulkar.

Thanks to Gawandi bhai, we got to see the real Arjun. :D

How the hell he grow to nearly 6 feet with such short parents?? Makes me sad that my height never increased from 5 ft 9 after 16 yrs of age. :(

What's with him sticking his tongue out when batting?

Kid really does look like indian Justin Bieber haha

Terrible articles, terrible thread. No wonder Tendulkar used to avoid his own countrymen.

He looks like Sachin in appearance, except that he is tall which makes him less cooler. Not comparing but it is scary that Sachin was playing FC team at this age.

Lol. Well said. Watch this poor kid flop with the weight of a whole country on his back.

Won't grow anymore. Not many people grow to be taller than both parents.

I have to now question if he is really Tendulkar's son.
Odd that father is 5' 6" and son ends up 6' 2". How tall is mother 6 feet?

Funny claim that people dont grow taller than their parents. If that were true, human race would have progressed over the generations to become dwarfs.

Great way to derail a future GOAT thread. This is just the height of trollness.

At least He is More Handsome Than his famous Dad, And if he turn out to be a good cricketer as well, He will Give Kohli a real tough time for Chocolate rock star of indian cricket contest. The girl Would go mad For Him. I Can assure you.

Yeah Arjun resembles somewhat with Justin Bieber. And also many used to tweet that Sara Tendulkar resembles to Jennifer Lawrence

In India? Maybe because of better health and diet. I shouldn't have said "Not many" because quite a lot of people do, but from my extended family, my generation is a bit shorter than their dads.
