Sami Aslam and his perennial issue of playing spin

Doesn't seem to have improved his problems with spinners. The amount of times I've seen him struggle to read the basic off-spin is shocking.

He also doesn't know whether to go back, or come forward when playing spin.

The other issue I see is his habit of walking across his stumps to the pacers, and on many occasions being confused playing the front-foot dive/block instead of being on the back-foot.

I thought being out of the side may help him iron out his problems, but I guess I was wrong. What exactly do their batting coaches see when viewing their dismissals? Do they not see what he's doing wrong?

Same story with most of the younger batsmen coming through. Babar has his struggles against spin too.

This is what happens when your domestic games are ending within 3 days and batsmen do not bat for longer periods against spinners.

Karachi probably the only ground in the *winters* where there still is a battle between spinners and batsmen.

He has some potential but he seems like a pretty average cricketer. Don't think he has the mentality to be a successful Test cricketer. Seems to obsessed with his individual statistics and doesn't show enough guts at the crease.

Doesn't deserve to be dropped though, at least not yet, but expectations should be bare minimum. There are many examples of players making hay at the U-19 level but failing to make the step.

Same story with every player here as they're absolutely clueless on how to play spin and what to do against spin.

Sami and Babar both need to look at Azhar and how he has developed his game against spin. He used to look just as shaky as these two when he started out but now is a lot more assured and has developed good scoring shots against spin.

He deserves more chances but the issue regarding playing spin is a valid one.

The problem is that he plants his front foot down the pitch too early and then struggles for balance and to adjust to whether to play forward or back.
