He's come in at 92/6 with first Shadab and then the debutant Talat sent in earlier.

Could've come in earlier and taken the initiative?

Frankly, he is not good enough to bat in the top seven. So I think number 8 suits him.

Should’ve opened, he likes to rotate strike and that’s what was needed at the top of the order.

Averaged 43 when opening.

If he isn’t contributing with bat, he should be gone, but he seems to think that his captaincy alone will keep him in the side.

Classic case of leading from the back. Gone are those days when our captain would lead us from the front. Even Azhar Ali was better at leading from the front. Who will his fans blame now for this cowardly display today? inzi or mickey

Says a lot about his confidence these days. Mentally shot

and he is keeping Rizwan out too which means he is selfish and insecure as well. I can't understand why Rizwan was not playing ahead of Talat. Awful team selection from Sarfraz.

Surprised he came in so high, should have come in at 11!

to be fair, this is what every Pak fan has been asking for, for months

Shadab is in form with the bat, and clearly has batting potential. And Shadab was probably the best batsmen today so far
Talat is a specialist batsmen
And Sarfraz is in horrible form

not sure what there is to complain here?

Becahara Sarfraz!

Could have scored a 100 today but tailenders let him down.

Spineless, techniqueless, and gutless. The captain sets example for a team and ours doesn't do that right.

He is actually batting well, and playing a vital role so there shouldn't be so much criticism for a strategic choice. All the guys above him are very capable batsmen so it isn't unreasonable.

No. Sarfraz should come late so others get a chance to showcase their talent.

These selfish 40 runs will cost us more in the long run. He is a big liability as a captain.

He has an annoying habit of getting out at crucial points in the game where him carrying on a little longer could put us in a good position. Lacks the killer instinct.

He just wanted his soft runs which he got in the end. Who cares if team loses. He can't lead from the front.

This 40 and Amla's 100 have same effect. These types of knocks don't help team cause in any way. Sarfraz has been with the team for 10 years yet he can't play like a true match winner. This was a very selfish innings to keep himself safe.

May be he thought Talat and Shadab are better batsmen than him? And I don't understand the nonsense of "taking the initiative" since when he is the best batsmen we have in our team? So he gave better batsmen a chance but I know this won't be swallowed with the haters.

Rather than criticizing the batsmen knives are our for Sarfaraz. These fans deserve a captain like azhar ali... then they 'll ask for SArfaraz ... heck when experts here can ask for a failure as in UA they can do anything..

He’s become a chicken after taking over captaincy. Should be playing at 5. He’s useless below that and it makes no sense. Mickey and him have a lot to answer.

errrm it's given us a fighting chance of winning the game. Why not ask questions of Malik/Hafeez/Babar?

A captain hiding with 10 years int. experience hiding behind newbies and tailenders is really really pathetic irrespective of his 40. By the time he came in the game was gone. His selfish knock with 69 strike rate looks good because Hasan's hacks came to party.

Go easy on ur captain. All teams are expirementing different players and combinations for world cup squad, so are Sarfaraz and Mickey.

He plays up the order and wasn't doing good. Shadab/Talat and others were doing better in previous games so he came down and gave them chance. Now where this hiding nonsense comes from?

He comes up the order and fails then fans say look should have send shadab up the order. Point is keep the individual hate aside and look the game as a team. question the veterans of 20 years who played international cricket and couldnt play a pull on a 125kph thunderbolt, then question sarfaraz:shhh:shhh

Sometimes the Sarfraz criticism is ridiculous. He scored a decent 41 coming at a terrible time. The only criticism is that he should have batted the full 50 overs and aimed for something closer to 250.

As far as him coming in at number 8 is concerned, I don't have any criticism towards that. Talat and Shadab are both emerging players with high ceilings in terms of their batting. This was a good opportunity for them. This isn't the world cup final where he is choosing to hide.

Probably had an over-based target in mind for when he thought he should walk out. Being a captain, he can dictate terms on that front.

Hate coming through this post is cringe! please have a look in the mirror and ask yourself what is making you so bitter. Positive attitude will give you a better outlook in life.

Cant believe it. There I am saying he needs to bat up the order, and he is going lower and lower

Before the series began I had Sarfraz batting at 8 in my XI because he has regressed so much, he's become a tail ender with the bat. Shadab and Imad can both bat better than him as well.

Think he will be in a lot of pressure tomorrow - everything he says or do will be watched.

He’s going to get tested with a few short balls tomorrow, that’s for sure - should spend some time with an accomplished batsman like Hafeez to get some tips on how to handle quick short balls.

I would say no.8 is too high for him right now.
next game he should bat below Hasan Ali

Best position for him would be 4-5
He is good at strike Rotation and can chip in with a score of 25-30 with a decent SR

And even if he fails there it won't matter for Pak since they are prone to collapses and also they play "allrounders" which gives them depth in their batting
When u play such line up in an odi
Then the batsmen should play at positions best suited for their style of play

Agree. His best use would be at 4.

He's regressed massively with the bat. No.8 may be his best position in this series. A couple of weeks/months ago I was think Sarfi's best position would be No.5 as he is a great strike rotater, a good runner between the wickets and is exceptional against spin. This was about 2017, since then the captaincy weight has gotten to him and has regressed as a batsman and from the looks of it needs a break badly. Fitness seems suspicion and its not getting better any time soon.

He should 'promote' himself today as not much in the pitch.

Sarfaraz still holding himself back - wise move?

Brilliant move... when he not delivering with bat should take time and hold back. Let the youngsters/allrounder prove their worth first...

Sarfaraz is hiding himself against top opposition...... And here PP experts are saying he should Bat at no. 4

More than hiding, it also changes mindset of 4th wicket partnership. Less freedom for 4th wicket partnership.
