What an effort this.

Single handedly taking Pakistan to the finishing line. Win or lose, Sarfraz has proved today his heart beats for Pakistan.

Yes, apart from trying to get himself out every over.

OP is trolling for sure. He provided two easy chances but it was Lankans who messed up.

credit to Amir as well

Pakistan can still win this game.

Sri Lankans are getting rattled at this partnership. Drop catches and misfields are on the rise

We can say SL are making him play innings of his life, he tried to get run out once and get caught twice.

I hope this is not the innings of his life. Sri lanka has dropped him twice already. On the other hand, Amir is looking like someone who can handle this situation just fine.

sarfaraz. The class act. Sublime timing. Poetic follow through. What a player

I hope not, this is a rubbish innings propped up by bad fielding and dropped catches. If this is his innings of life, he isn't very good then.

Harsha Bhogle: There is a great sense of co-operation on display here. Pakistan offering the match and Sri Lanka politely declining.

20 runs with 3 wickets and 47 balls remaining

This has been achieved many times in T20

Nope, dropped 2 times, innings does not deserve to be rated at all.
May be you don't remember the Semi final match Where Tendu had five lives given by the Pak players to a match winning 85. Remember or not? Drops are part of the game. Legends make them count.

Rubbish or not i dont care. Its a match winning one in the end.

We misfield and drops opposition catches as well.

He's been lucky in that his running between the wickets has been awful and he has been dropped twice, but he's stuck it out and credit to him.

Well despite all the chances Sarfraz gave to throw it away, he did take advantage of it.

So when Kohli gets drop well done to him sticking
But when Sarfraz gets dropped he was poor?

wha re logun :p

What a cool player and great celebrations. Stayed focussed despite the dropped catches and made it count. This is what champions are made of.
Excellent

Had all the luck with his side.

Captain's knock under immense pressure.

Brilliant by Safaraz today.

Excellent captaincy, great keeping and saw us home with the bat (just)

He said "Allah helped us". about the dropped catches. :))) very simple guy

Was a nothing score by Sri Lanka but only our batsmen know how to make a pigs ear of a standard run chase

Rubbish innings, he should have walked when he was dropped, I mean it's just poor sportsmanship to capitalize on your opponents mistake.

Pakistan should withdraw from the semi finals.

Pakistan were favorites to win this, Sarfraz doesn't look like the batsman you want to have under pressure. It was Amir's calmness that won Pakistan the game, he was dropped twice, he ain't a hussey or a bevan

He saw it through. Good enough.

Mathews drop this year was reminiscent of Younis in 2009. Dropped the matches in both games.

What a fantastic victory, a much better CT campaign than the 2013 one (my first CT tournament), hopefully we can reach the finals here.

This. Pak don't even deserve to play cricket.

ICC/corrupt boards should follow example of BCCI and completely isolate Pakistan cricket.

UN should ban cricket in Pakistan yo!

Sarfaraz had 5 lives today. 3 CLEAR runout chances and 2 dropped catches.

Those 2 were good balls by Malinga and anyone can get out on good balls.
We all know Sarfraz isnt a very talented batsman but he is Fighter and puts his heart for his country.

This is the most significant Pakistan win in a long time. Well done Sarfi <3

Keep crying folks.

Fact pak won 2 games out of 3 when it mattered. Now in the semis.

They have made us proud!

I am an Indian srilankas sloppy fielding cost them. Having said that well played Amir and Sarfaraz.sarfaraz reminds me of dhoni with out power hitting

People need to lay off him - wow.

He stuck it out and did what he could in the circumstances - he's not Kohli, he did what he could and did it well enough to win us the game.

People quick to slate him. SL put the chances down.

Had Sarfaraz not been thereto fight it out, Sri Lankka would have made sure Amir crumbled under pressure with directed bowling.

those who are rating amir's batting better than sarfraz, they should rate his batting better than babar azam as well as fakhar as he was also almost caught one time

take that now few egoistic haters

To be fair to Sarfraz, he created pandemonium in the Sri Lankan outfield with a cool innings (up until the chip to midwicket) and in a way the pressure got the the Sri Lankans.

Great innings regardless, gutsy, but Amir's was better. Looked flawless.

Sarfraz had the innings of his life and showed true grit to come through to take the team to victory.

is someone needs credit for batting it is Aamir, not Sarfraz. Sarfraz was giving every chance to get himself out by runout or catches.

There's one thing saying someone's innings was better, but another thing to say the batsman is better.

Don't get the two confused.

Amir played the better innings. Sarfraz rode his luck.

We won't have won if Sarfraz wasn't batting, it was the pressure Sarf created which won us the game... an established test match and ODI bat always creates more pressure than the tailender...

We could've still won had Amir gotten out, Hasan ali can also bat well, but Sarf was the big fish... and the reason we won, which is why he was the MOM.

However Amir's contribution cannot be underappreciated at all... he was the wicket bowlers were after and he stuck in really well

Amir played great but Sarfraz had good partnerships with Malik and Fahim too which helped us winning the game!

Yes, apart from trying to get himself out every over.

Bit of an exaggeration. There were some questionable singles and the drop catches but Malinga is worldclass.

Credit to Amir aswell. A chanceless innings. The batting staff need to convince him to become a serious all-rounder.

Atherton's words : A street fighter from Karachi, battled it out when his team was looking down the barrell..

The deserved MOM for the way he played and fought for country when no one else was willing to stand up..

Ably supported by Amir (a tailender), apparently a better batsman than Sarf according to a few here :))

The hate towards Sarfaraz is surprising to me. It was not a perfect innings. But you cannot deny he gutted it out, understood the situation and focused on just rotating the strike and working with Amir.

Also, his entire postmatch interview was basically giving credit to Amir for how he batted, which I really appreciated.

This win was by Fakher, Sarfraz, and Amir only basically.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH :D Damnn tendulkar should have done the same in mohali too :'(

Also, good batsmen make you pay for your mistakes. Kohli does it. The best do it - you drop them, they make you pay.

But if Sarfraz gets dropped, sticks in there, and takes his team over the finish line - he's terrible?

haha nice sarcasm :p

but still its funny to see posters who hail dodgy innings of other players saying well done for sticking but now criticizing sarfi :p double standards eh ?

no, junaid and hasan were crucial, they set the win basically for a pathetic total to chase by tailenders

Amir contribution was remarkable.... he batted with any flaw and that really reduces pressure on ua patner

The major responsibility still lied with Sarfraz however, because he is the only established batsmen left
