Saudi Arabia's AlBaik expected to launch in Pakistan

Al Baik could be a big hit in Pakistan but the biggest challenge would be to replicate the quality and taste of Saudi outlets

AlBaik is officially coming to Pakistan – Check launch date & branches

Saudi Arabia’s popular fast-food chain AlBaik is set to make its debut in Pakistan with the agreement now in its final stages.

During the meeting with AlBaik's ownr Rami Abu Ghazala in Jeddah, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal KhanJam Kamal Khan and Abu Ghazala discussed the operational framework and potential locations for AlBaik’s branches across major Pakistani cities.

The commerce minister - who is currently on an official visit to Saudi Arabia - also met with prominent Saudi businessmen to explore avenues for strengthening trade ties.

He highlighted Pakistan’s improving business environment, facilitated by initiatives like the Single Window system and the National Compliance Center.

Saudi investors have expressed keen interest in Pakistan’s energy, agriculture, IT, and construction sectors, with both sides agreeing to enhance bilateral economic relations.

According to Jam Kamal Khan, Saudi exports to Pakistan have seen a 22% rise, with total trade volume reaching $700 million.

Moreover, remittances from Pakistani workers in Saudi Arabia amounted to $7.4 billion, underlining the strong financial link between the two nations.

The Saudi government’s recent visa policy, allowing GCC citizens visa-free entry for up to 90 days, is expected to further facilitate economic exchanges.

Minister Jam Kamal Khan emphasised that Pakistan offers a conducive business environment with significant opportunities for expansion.

Stupid stuff.

So instead of launching our own brands, we again want a foreign brand to enter the market.

Chalo, i hope if they bring this brand, I really hope that the quality standards dept is with the franchisor and now everything is handed over to the frnachisee.

KFC Pakistan makes zingers out of thigh pieces which i really hate. Loved the chicken of popeyes in Canada that were made of breast pieces. In Pakistan, restaurants copy each other so everyone makes zinger from thigh piece.

Wonder what they will do with Albaik here.

Pepes is far far superior. This broast chicken isnt the same. I tried it this year, nothing more than a cheap chicken and chips shop in the UK.

Our halal fast food culture in the UK is elite levels now, because of the levels of competition brands are constantly innovating.

You are right, Al Baik seems similar in comparison.

Might grab a Pepes rice box for dinner now that you have mentioned it
:inzi

Cant beat a Pepes Rice Box. The Garlic Mayo Tubs are incredible.

I have downgraded from extreme to extra hot and I think a further downgrade will occur soon to hot, cant handle the heat anymore

Extreme is dangerous lol. I've tried it only once . I stick to mild or mango & Lime and add my own chili.

Pepes chicken is always fresh from my local shop, cooked to perfection too. Al Baik seems very dry, as if its cooked at a too high temp.

I wish Canada would catch up to UK in terms of halal fast food.

UK seems to have more options. :inti

Yeah. I love spicy but extreme spice is not my type.

I want to enjoy my meal. Not burn my mouth. :inti

You have Pepes in Canada? What other famous chicken outlets? Al Baik too?

No Pepe's Piri Piri where I live. But, I think there is one Pepe in another city called Hamilton; it is far from me.

Pepe is not well-known in Canada.

As far as halal joints go, we have many small halal outlets. My favorite one is Kandahar Kabab; it is an Afghan store.

Extreme with the garlic dip combo is good, but the older you get as @sweep_shot mentioned starts to burn the mouth rather than becoming enjoyable.

Oddly enough, some of the best fast food I have eaten is independent joints in Pakistan. The restaurant standards can be hit and miss, but very rarely been disappointed when I have sat down and the food has arrived.

It is obviously copied from the franchises, but they might add their own touch which is often pretty damn good.

If you spend a few weeks in UK cities you will go back home to Canada double the size.

We are very lucky now even the mainstream shops are going Halal. My local 5 guys became Halal recently.

If Al Baik launched in the UK it would have some hype initially but people wouldn't go regularly.

We have this small halal chicken outlet here. They used to sell super-spicy chicken burger. It is the spieciest burger I have ever tried.

They ended up removing it from the menu. LOL.

I guess it was dangerously spicy and they didn't want to get sued. They now sell mild and slightly spicy burgers.

You have market space right there! Perhaps a pepes franchise in Canada if you ever want to start a business.

UK esp London, Bham and Manchester have incredible restaurants. Atm steaks and briskets are very popular here.

Seemed underwhelming this time around… they just serve chicken nuggets in squares unless you went to the ones at petrol stations alongside highways at pit stops? Did I miss something?
